High-beam dashboard light always on?

Hi all,

I've been messing around with my indicator stalk (it broke) and when I fixed it and replaced it I noticed the high-beam light on the dasboard is stuck on (when I turn the headlights on). Pull the stalk towards the driver makes the high-beam lights themselves flash a little (I think one high beam light might be out).

I just wanted to check: does the dashboard high-beam light staying on indicate anything, like a blown globe? (I know this is true in some cars). Or is there something I should know about with the induicator assembly?
