i,ve noticed the synchro for 3rd gear seems a little lazy, on my lxi, and was wondering if anybody has used redline synthetic in their tranny and if it improved shifting? i have used red line in my jeeps for years, and they make products for every application, that seem to always help shifting, especially in cold weather, or extremely hot weather. synchros need some friction to do their job, and a lot of synthetics are just too slippery to allow them to work properly.:stick:
i 've heard if HONDA MTF !ppl say it improves the shifting a lot !

When my 3rd ger syncro became weak I used honda mtf and one bottle of lucas tranny stuff it does wonders for syncros but I have also heard redline works well
Redline doesn't work well enough for what they charge for it. I used it and didn't notice much of a diference. Next change I used 5w30 and didn't notice any diference, other then the $1.20 a bottle as opposed to $10. At no time did my tranny stop grinding or shift smoother.

Well I can honostly say that lucas made a huge difference and was worth 9 bucks but only use one bottle. When I was using 10w-30 or 5w-30 I would grind 3 everytime I reved 2nt past 4k after lucas no problems.
that is for automatics. if you have manual it won't do shit.
no it is for both trust me if you look at the bottle it says so
