Question for the guys with lowering springs...

Well I picked up some coilovers on ebay a month or two ago and they aren't so great. The front still has wheel gap and the back looks stock heigh and the coil is dropped all the way.

I'm thinkin of doin a 2.5" drop, and I have 17" rims with 205/40 rubber. So basically my question is what lowering springs will give me about a .5" wheel gap if not a slight tuck?

So the guys that have springs with about a 2.25" drop or more, let me know how much gap you have and what kind of springs you used.

I'd really apprechiate your help on this one...

the reason why it looks so high still is because of your tire size but it shouldnt be too bad with 17's. I had 16's with a 45 series tire and i was dropped at least 3" and i just barely had 0 wheel gap. I'd say you'll have to go at least 2.5" to get a small wheel gap.

Well what brand coilovers did you get. I have the DZ's and I dropped it 3" and I have ZERO wheel gap. I would try 2.25" first then change it from there.

i got no name coil overs... they were like $50, so I guess you get what you pay for... So how much are DZ's and do you have the DZ springs or, I assume you got the coilovers???

i think dropzones go for 99 but they are SOOOOOOOOO stiff... go to www.truckn-store.com and find the coilovers for our cars... they arent that stiff and they will lower it alot... they are like half as stiff as dropzones.. so they wont ride as harsh with tokico's

i've heard that 95-99 civic coilovers work on our cars and they're made for a lighter car so they won't be so soft. I almost bought a set of aerospeeds for 100 bucks, but i decided not to just because i'm gonna go either with springs or a set of cut stock springs.

I used the cheapo Otto racing springs a while back. When I measured, they did not drop the promised 2.25, but it was 1.75 inch drop. As far as the cheapos from EBAY, I thought that the price was too good to be true...

Yea you can get those low boyz at truck n store or find a way to make your work. If you can measure each spring height and if the rears are taller then the fronts. Also measure the height of the sleeve.

shid yah man what kinda coil overs did you get cuz I got the DZ's too and they were tuckin my fronts without bein all the way down.
I had to raise my shyt up alittle cuz its a daily driva

i bought some inexpensive goldline lowering springs and it lowered my car the promised 2.25" and there is little to no wheel gap i guess it is all on personal preference

I got the DZ's too. For there price you can't complain and they can really slam your car.

i am lookin at truckn-store.com, at the ones for 89$, any complaints with those?

I know that DXHATCHBACK is about the only one with them and he loves them and that is cheaper then what I remember he paid for them. There is a minor mod you have to do them, ask DXHATCHBACK what has to me done.
