OK - ST SpringTec springs or SuspensionMAX coilover?
OK, I've been running Neuspeeds and Tokico's for the last three years, and with my driving they are getting plumb worn out. Also, I think I have Atlanta roads to thank, too.
Anyway, I'm going with revalved Bilsteins since finding Koni's is getting to be a full-time occupation. My problem is with springs. Yeah, I'm bringing the car lower, but not much more. I've looked at Sprint and ST/SpringTec springs, and would go with the ST springs just to save the 1/4" of travel, given the spring rates are higher. Sound like a good plan?
What about the SuspensionMAX coilovers on Ebay? Those GC look-a-likes? I've also found Weapon-R and DropZone, etc on there. I'm not really looking to coilover due to their rubbing problem on the threads, and the fact the set screws suck on the sleeve most the time to keep it from moving on the shock. Problem is, at $80 shipped, those SuspensionMAX are almost a throw-away piece, which is why I consider them; my wallet is screaming already, so *shrug* had to be put in the off'ing. Is it actually worh the time, or stick with normal springs?
Yeah, it'll be a go-kart, but it's like my Dad's VW bug that way, which I miss being able to throw though curves and be flat. I can live with the firm ride, not the first time I've had one.
