is there a tranny screen on our cars?
Do you mean a filter? the answer is no.
Auto or manual?
I think the autos have a filter right?
I suggest once that someone change their AT fluid and filter and I found out that the auto has no filter. I just verified that at Autozone's site. Im kinda disappointed in Honda for that.
The 5 speed has no filter either, but most do not anyways. The 5 speed gears and synchros just sit in the oil while the Auto have tubing and rely off pressure and heat to push the fluid through the tranny.
cool thanx i looked at the tranny and couldnt find a pan i thought maybe its internal cause a machanic told me ooooohhhhhhh yeah there a filter on there i was like there is no pan but thanx again for the info

There is a screen filter in the tranny, but you have to drop the tranny to get to it
there is a screan, but it is deep inside the tranny. you have to take it apart to get to it. it is very unlikely to the screen to get dirty or cloged up.
A autozone manager told me as well that there's a screen inside and that i'd have to drop the pan to switch it out of my AT.
Thats about the 100th time I have heard bad advice from an autozone manager. Like when I told my brother to go get some thread lock for his spark plugs, and the manager told him it was not nessasary. Whew I had a good few words for that manager. It was funny, I embarresed her in front of about 5 employees and a dozen custumers. I wish I had that one on tape.Quote:

Here is how I think of people at parts stores, about a step higher than a fast food worker.
