The idea is sound. We use a similar trick when hacking our MAFs in the nissan community. The idea in our case is to limit the resistor to a lower rating to trick the ECCS into thinking that the air volume entering is something that it is not.
i think it is!
So does it work or not and if it does work is it worth the money?
That is pure bullshit. Come on; 20 horsepower just from overfueling the poor engine? What a laugh! The thing most likely to happen is that the oilfilm on the cylinder walls will be washed away from all that excess fuel, and your engine (more presicely: the cylinder walls) will be ruined.
If the 3G however was running lean as fuck from the factory, like 17:1, there would be an increase in performance by bringing the air/fuel-mixture up to a good 13,5-14:1 (witch is about optimal for performance in a normally aspired engine).
Remember: Just adding fuel does nothing. You have to comprehend with the real problem: getting enough AIR into the engine!
its from ebay.....enough said
I would say a waste of your money
Consider the fact that you have a carbureated DX, where the ECU only Controls emissions (not real engine management like PGMFI does). Even if that chip did do anything it would not work with your car.Quote:

Well I wish they were real. lol. I need 20 HP!
What about a FI-swap? That will get you 120 horsepowers with the A20A3-engine, or 122 horsepowers with the no-cat-Euro A20A4. Or maybe a nice, old B20A, or perhaps even a new, fully built B20VTEC? :D
bluntly answered, yes.
I wish I could afford that. I plan to do a b18 or a b20 swap SOMEDAY.Quote:

i got a resistor from a friend who paid $10.00 for it, from ebay.
it was funny, he had a mustang but he did'nt wanna try it.
so i tried it on my cougar, it was a lil diff.
then like an hour later the check engine light came on.
when i got the lx-i, i put it in.
the same cept for the check engine light.
