in you guy's opinions, what is the cheapest and most effective way to improve the "feel" of my day to day drive?
im just sick of the feeling every bump and piece of paper i drive over every day, it gets on my nerves lol

wait, are you saying the stock suspension feels too stiff? if that's the case you don't want coilovers or lowering springs. just replace the shocks if it's not riding good.
you would be amazed what a really good set of TIRES will feel like. :)
well in the case you want it too feel like a caddy, yeah, keep dreaming...... try different tire preasures...
i would be willin gto bet your struts are worn... buy a set of tokicos which are a tad stiffer than stock... stay with your stock springs if you're satisfied with ride height... that's what i'm doing until i can afford the uber bucks for GCs and bilstiens...
yep....it is a small car, you will get small car ride no matter what. if you are not going to lower it, replace your struts, and get some good tires. then deal with the ride.Quote:

Depending on the tire I usually run 32 frnt 25 psi rear on my tires. There no weight on the back so you dont need as much air in them. Thats about as chaep as i can think of.
i run the opposite on cars i have with matching tires... on mom's car, i run 30 in the front and 32 in the rear... with my mismatched tires, i don't care, it all gets even... i guess it's all preference with precise pressures...

well, to cut understeer, you want to either increase traction in the front, decrease in the rear, or both... lower pressure means more traction... that was my reasoning... i might try it the other way, but i don't think it's that big of a deal with a street only car... especially one that's not driven that hard...
k so the main idea ive heard is, replace the struts (they definately need to be im sure, the stock ones are still on there), wheels and tires (i was thinkin about 16's, if they'll fit) and i wanna go ahead and throw on some coilovers to lower it some, but i can look on those, cuz ive seen alot in the forums, theres even a sticky on the best ones lol.

if you put coiovers, prepare for your ride to bounce on stock or stock replacement struts.
to support coilovers you need custom struts and they will cost you over $600 green ones.
coilovers are not the best thing to have if you want smooth and soft ride.
yeah, if you want good struts to go with coilovers, you have to either souce some konis or send biltiend HDs off to be revalved...
well ive been wantin to drop it some, and i knew coilovers wudnt help. Will lowering springs require new struts too?

Try is its a free deal. Plus I use speed rated tires so maybe I notice the effect better. Plus I like to wear my fronts down pretty good then rotate them to the back so I have fresh tires on the front worn ones in the back for spring time. I like to go up the dragons den RT129 ( 11 miles 318 turns) and play in the spring before the motorcycles take it over.

what is soucing koni's? i know koni is the strut brand, but what is soucing lol
and is it cheaper to get konis or revalved bilsteins?
i found that adding coilovers or lowering springs will give u a harsher ride. looks great, handles great, but harsher ride than stock. i find the stock ride really comfortable as is personally. and yes, u'll need to get new struts if ur getting lowering springs unless u wanna break ur stock ones and get an even harsher ride.

I prefer the Konis since they are rebound adjustable. However, they haven't made any for more than a year so it's getting very difficult to find them anywhere other than here in the marketplace occasionally.Quote:
