My aunt bought a LX sedan with manual (thank god) transmission from the dealership in fall of 88. It was her daily driver for a few years, then it was retired and sat in her garage. A couple years ago she gave the car to my sister who drove it for a year before going to college. Then it sat outside my mom's house for another year or two until she got sick of looking at it and gave it to me
It's only got 118,000 miles on it, and pretty much everything is original and working. It even has the original manual with the dealer's card taped to it, and until last night it still had the dealer's plate holder. :) Only thing not working is the a/c cause I fried the compressor when i ran if for like 15 minutes and apparently it was out of coolant which isnt good for the compressor. :uh:
The body is in pretty good shape, with only a few dings and some scratches near the drivers side key hole. the worst is on the front drivers side bumper (you can see it in the pix) where somebody hit a garage wall or something. I want to get one of those paint pens but their website doesn't have my paint color (go figure it was only offered in 88), though im gonna email them. The interior is also in really good shape, with only minor wear and fading (cept the back of the back seat headrests which are almost white lol)
Installed mods:
- tint (70 front sides, 30 back sides, 15 back windshield)
- H4 conversion headlights
Sitting in closet waiting to be installed:
- ventshades (aftermarket tape on kind)
- full bra (covercraft brand)
for the future:
- tune up, replace fluids, filters, spark plugs, etc (soon)
- new wheel covers (soon)
- minor interior repair (soon)
- detail body and interior (soon)
- touch up paint and repair dings (eventually)
- 15" wheels (maybe later)
- rear sway bar (maybe)
- short ram air intake (maybe)
thanks to 3geez for all the info i've gained while looking through the forums.. looking forward to learning even more :)
