Gas mileage record
i just drove 541 miles on one tank and still some change left over...36.5 mpg! this is the best my car has ever done. has anyone else recorded these kinds of numbers? i put that new cold air intake on and i guess it made the difference. about 450 of it was interstate miles. how big is our gas tank i thought it was around 15.9? the gas meter showed i used 14.8 gallons
-
yeah 15.9 is the right capacity for our tanks. I pull 40-41mph from North Carolina to VA every single time. cause i do about 70max, and i pull out 37-39mpg from NJ to VA cause i average about 80 to 85mph.
-
Jeez, that's nuts. I wish I'd gotten that amount of miles in my Accord. I think the most I ever did was like close to 400 miles in it.
-
i don't remember the mileage. coming back from Orlando in January i had a full tank when i left and got to 5 miles south of Atlanta when i filled it up. when i pulled up to the pump the needle had just hit red on the fuel gauge. i've never had my fuel light come on, where does it usually light up?
-
its supposed to light up on the right side of your instrument panel on the top, its orange. the one in my car has never worked but it did work in my old 86
-
it should light up when u hit the reserve limit on your tank, which is normally 2gallons for every gas tank, and some have a max of 5gallons for reserve on sports cars.
-
i think the best ever i've gotten has been 440 miles on a bit under 13 gallons. that was driving mostly 100ish down the i10
-
i went 450mi on the tank before, ive never really kept track more than a few times, or if i thought the car was going thru gas too fast.
-
i get around 300 out of every tank, and i do 95% city driving.
Ive driven my car down to where the needle is on E, not just the red, but E itself... and ive never had a fuel light come one. Ive only done it once since ive heard its hard on the fuel pump.
-
we got over 40 one time on my old 3gee. that's with 4 people and luggage for a week.
-
i've only gotten 330mi on a tank. i usually get mid 20's for my mpg.
-
i get roughly 25mpg..I usually fill up roughly 10-12 gallons cause I hate running on E and wanting to go somewhere right away but have to fill up.
-
I will usually average 20-23. Most of my driving is done in the city, but that is about to change.
I will be mostly on the freeway soon, so it will be interesting to see if there is much change.
-
My carb has been set like half a turn below spitting black smoke out of my exhaust (on start up), and thats with a CAI... I did my best at like 370 @85-90mph on the highway.
I ran my ish dirty.
I would do 35ish city/highway in my crx, if only I could stay out of that damned vtec... way too addictive.
-
When I had the 3G I averaged about 35 mpg (city and highway driving combined).
-
Dang. I always get about 32mpg. No matter if it's city or highway.
-
damn you guys have great gas mileage. i'm only getting 270.
-
I get about 33 city and 37 highway in both cars.
-
I'd average between 400 and 500 miles per tank, depending on whether it was city or highway driving and if I used Shell gas or not.
-
I get around 430-435 per tank if its freeway and if its town, its around 400. Not too bad for a carb'd accord.
-
My accord got 25 mpg, my civic gets about 38-39 mpg
-
i get about 400-420 miles before i fill up...
usually works out to be around 32-36 mpg...
thats 95% freeway driving though.. so i dont consider it THAT great... when my dad owned it he would always get 450+ before needing to fill up... but with the mods, and the lead filled shoes i wear, i dont think i have a chance at seeing 450 miles on a tank! lol
-
I swear that my tank is only 14 gallons.
The gas light comes on, I ride for a few minits, then I fill up.. every time 13.3x gallons.
Just can't believe there's 2.6gallons left.
-
Usually fill the tank around 420 miles. Takes around 11ish gallons. Last tank I got 37.99mph, mostly highway.
-
my '86 hatch gets well over 30mpg around town, and more than 41 mpg on my trips to orlando with a passenger and the hatch full of coolers and stuff, running aroung 80-90 mph, right in my power band, not bad having over 300,000 miles.
