New to Accords, need to know about some engine swaps...

i'm new to accords, and i was wondering what everyone has in ideas of engine swaps. i would like to know what engine i can bolt directly onto the original engine mounts. i have a 1988 honda accord lxi with an efi. i know all about crx swaps, but my crx was recently impounded and there's no way for me to get it back, seeing as how i have fines out the ass. and they say cops won't chase you when your going over 140mph in massachusetts :wtf: anyways, i looked everywhere around here for a decent, cheap crx but i had no luck, so i bought this accord, which has very litle rust and was well maintained, but the engine has 315,000+ miles on it. i think it might be time for a new one. anyways i really appreciate any help and advise.

:welcome: good to have a another fellow 3geezer, as for swaps , use the search button my friend, thers several cars with swaps on this site but I think the only ones that you can use stock mounts is the b20a, but I'm not sure because I'm not interested in doing a swap on my car I'm going forced induction hehe.

the only engine you can swap into these cars with the original engine mounts are A20's. plus everyone here will tell you that unless youre willing to fab up your own mounts or pay up the ass for custom ones and do a lot and i mean a lot of custom work to get it fit in...dont bother with an engine swap. of course there are some members here who have successfully swapped in b16's, b20's and b18's. search for them if you want to go though with it. read all their swap threads and then think about it. some that i can think of off the bat are sq_is_the_squad and wickedaccord. otherwise just build up the engine and turbo the shit out of it. best bet. and what cant you get your car back? was it impounded by cops? is it way too much for you to afford to pay for it? i work for an impound company... so im just curious.

ebay has them periodically. although i usually see only the longblock. but if you get the longblock, you can bolt on all your manifolds and stuff and it should run fine. you could probably also build one of the motors while it's out the car then drop it in. but yeah, an engine swap either means you have to do custom work or locate a b20a(2) from the 86-89 accord/84-87 prelude (the b20a(5/7) from the 88-91 prelude will not bolt in).

just boost a A20A3 :)

i beleive its the b20a (no number) that fits into the 3g accord. this motor was never available in US/canadian accords, but they are available just about everywhere else!
