I haven't posted here in awhile, but i know theres some talk about a water injection system. A buddy of mine that owns a garage has ran a system simular to this for years in his Honda's. And I've been runnig it on my accord I know for at least two years. Do what you want with the info.:)

so i dlike to know thw numbers were talking about here like actual percentage in fuel hp and engine life
a20a1 will be all over this. it wont work for the FI guys...
It would be nice if we could make it work for FI. Would hooking this up to the intake on FI cars do the same thing?
this will work for the FI dudes too... a throttle body is basically a carb... all you hafta do is tap into your air intake a couple inches before the throttle body. you can get a threaded tap at a hardware store for less than a dollar, they should be close to wherever you buy the hose from... jus use tha same setup they describe, except change that lil bit.

Steam cranes are supposed to be stronger then diesel cranes... I think thats cool.
so what changes did you see/feel?? smoother ride, more MPG, more HP, etc???

My buddy that has the shop heard this from a old time racer. He said it help cool the fuel/air mixture. The way I got mine hook up is top vac. nipple on the throttle body. I don't have hp numbers, but if it helps with detonation it worth the the small change I spent.

after reading through that page, this isn't a water injection systerm, per-say. it's a vapor injection system. same things going on, it's just that the water is in smaller droplets and isn't able to be controlled quite as well.
Water injection in a pretty much stock car, especially like our 3gs is kinda useless IMO. THe difference you see will be minimal.
However In a turbocharged application I know some people running water injection and it makes a big difference
the difference you see could be several WHP and 2-3 MPG. more than worth it.
come on guys, research this stuff more before you bash it!
So all those little fittings in the picture are sold at a local auto parts store? I think I'll try this out on my 5G if I can find all the parts.

That would be alcohol, dude. Very standard English expression...
I just used a good jar than seals good, cut two holes in the top big enough for two gromets and some 1/4" clear hoses. Be sure the hose coming from the jar to the throttle body is not sticking in the water because you will suck prue water and that equals hydrolock. And yes do use alcohol.Quote:

i'd only use alcohol in a cold climate. it's much easier to use pure water on a daily basis, as you can buy distilled water anywhere. having to mix every fillup can be a bitch and a half.

Okay, I'm kidding! DON"T use coolant! One thing to add here, I probably wouldn't use water at all in the winter. The carburetor is likely to ice up very easily if you do. In the winter, I'd suggest using something like OTC 70% Ethanol from the pharmacy.
I've been running mine for two years and its never froze up. Just add 1/2 water and 1/2 alcohol and you will have no problem.
It's different for carbs, your EFI so you don't have a venturi causing changes in velocity/pressure/temperature.
i don't know if i said this already, butim' going to do this with my truck. i can't really post up MPG results until i start work agian, but i can post up g-tech results.
A real water injection system is just as complex as a fuel injection system. 1 injector in each intake runner controlled by a computer referenced to manifold press and rpm, with the same amount of tunability as a chipped ecu..
