Steve_Si's foglight update thread - INSTALLED :D
Well I've started shifting the fog light parts from the donor car to my good 3G. The most important part is missing (no lights!) but it kinda makes sense to use all the donor's stuff anyway to make it easy when I find the fogs later on.
Here is the wiring I pulled out of the donor car. The one on the left is just a light bulb for the switch. On the left of the main one you can see the small fuse box and two plugs that go in to the loom near the in-cabin fuse box. The two top most plugs, which include piggy-back sockets plug in to the fuse box itself, although I piggy-backed one of them from something that was already plugged in. The right one is the plug for the switch.

Here you can see where most of them plug in, thanks Honda for making this easy :D

Wiring and fuses in place.

The switch (sorry for the poor quality, it focuses on the stupid floor mat)

The result so far, I have 12 volts at a plug near the battery when the switch is turned on. It also turns on the park lights

Tune in soon for the wiring to the lights and the brackets :) It was raining today so I couldn't be bothered pulling them out of the donor car.

Re: Steve_Si's foglight update thread
Look good. It seems that it uses connectors not present on USDM cars.
Those motorized fogs seem to be hard to come by :naughty:
Re: Steve_Si's foglight update thread
Yeah, all you really need is the switch and the bit of wiring that the switch plugs in too. Then I guess you'd have to run your own relay and wiring to the fogs. That would probably be better though, this factory system will keep the fogs on even if the main headlight switch is fully off. I prefer to be able to turn all my lights off with the headlight switch.
Re: Steve_Si's foglight update thread
looks nice....keep up the good work.
Re: Steve_Si's foglight update thread
Well today I pulled the bumper off the white 3G (thanks OD for telling me how, this is the first time I've ever removed a panel from a car) and removed the wiring and brackets for the fog lights, here you can see them and the bumper removed from the silver 3G, ready to fit.

The brackets bolt on using two of the three bolts that hold the bumper supports on. I had to use new cable ties for the wiring cause i have a big metal plate blocking some of the holes that the OEM cable ties clip in too.
The fog lights actually have three wires running to them; 12 volts, a very low voltage signal cable (i think) and the ground wire.

So it's all ready to roll, just gotta find me some fogs!
Re: Steve_Si's foglight update thread
Found some fogs today :D They are from a Prelude but they still hook up the same.
First problem was I had hooked up the wiring wrong. These fogs have 2 12 volt lines going to them. One main one for the bulbs, and another one to activate the motors. I had hooked up the motors to the middle of the three plugs in the in-cabin fuse box, which happens to the aux power. The third one is power when lights are on, so once I hooked it up to this it was all good.
They still act a bit strange, they will open without the main lights being on. But they will not close unless at least the park lights are on. So if you turn the main lights off before turning off the fogs, the covers stay open.
I'll still keep an eye out for some accord fogs, hopefully I can just change the covers over.

Those are just awesome!
I can't wait to install mine. I just need brackets for them.

Re: Steve_Si's foglight update thread
I bought some Pilot brand fogs and converted them to LED. They are very bright and blue white in color. I used the Xlamp / cree superbright ones with lenses. I will post pics tomorrow. You can see the Pilot fogs in the pic in my signature.
