Is that one of those relays on the back of the fuse panel? I think you just gotta reach up there and use some elbow grease to really get it out.
well im no weight lifter but ive pulled the crap out of it and it won't budge. yes it is one of the relays on the back of the fuse panal. would pilers do the job. im don't want to break something so im not going to try to reef on it to hard.
Man, those are a bitch to get out. I wonder if you loosen up the bolts that secure the fusebox if that might give you a little more slack. Probably not much more slack, but maybe enough to pull/wiggle the old one out. Pliers would do the job if you could find a long, narrow pair that would fit just the relay you want out. You would probably damage your old relay removing it. ANother example of just how freaking hard it is to get to some of the parts on these cars-- tight fits, old cars, small work areas, awkward designs...
There are 2 clips on each side. Press on the clips (don't pull) and it will get out.
You mean you don't enjoy hanging upside down with shitty light while you scrape your knuckles? This is especially fun when it is either very hot or very cold or if your lucky either one of those and raining. I've never tried this but maybe try spraying some electric contact grease up there. Or is that stuff sticky? I don't remember. I curse the electrical system designers...forever.
You should be able to unbolt the fuse box to get a little better angle. You'll need to get a slotted screwdriver or a pointy knife to lift up the tab on each side of the relay, then it should slide right out.
No need to unbolt the fusebox. Just press on the tabs and it comes out. I replaced mine 2 days ago and it took 2 seconds to remove.
isn't yours a 3 gee. are you sure their the same. should i take a screw driver and pull the tabs or should i take pilers and push them?
yours works exactly the same.you just reach up there and push the tabs on eithier side,it pops right out. i can remove and install those in a couple of seconds. don't need a light or to crawl under the dash or pliars or anything. just squeeze and it comes out.
actually its both you have to push one tab and pull on the other. but it did pop out. I did scratch my knuckles though.
DOH, yeah, I forgot that was for a 2g :(Quote:
