b series: front torque mount + updated mount pics
Ok, first, yeah, I know I need to clean these up a little and paint them. It rained right after I finished welding.. The first pic is of my newly fabbed front torque mount.

The next 2 are pics of the old passenger side mount. As you can see, the old mount bushing location was much higher up than after the revision. This resulted in more vibration being conducted into the chassis, as by being farther up, the mount was farther off from the drivetrain's axis of torsional vibration. I also replaced all of the existing bushings with softer ones, except for the front torque mount.

Anyway, the result is a dramatic reduction in vibration and wheelhop. It is totally different now when letting out the clutch or when shifting hard, especially from 1st to 2nd. Before, it would knock the shit out of my dash and the wheels would hop horribly violently. Now it's more like a factory car. If the wheels spin, they spin, but they don't really hop, and it doesn't feel like it's going to break anything. Everything feels a lot more controlled. Basically, the front torque mount doubles the amount of leverage the mounts have on controlling the driveline torsionally. (I can now brag freely that my mounts are better than the pri kit..lol)

The front mount was totally from scratch with one of my old innovative poly bushings.

you know, this might sound a little weird, but just about any halfway decent welding shop could make the mount setup for you, with a little help. You'd have to get the car and motor/driveline there, and hold it in place where you want it with a hoist/whatever, but building mounts is just basic fabrication. My threads basically outline the whole process. You guys can benefit from my mistakes and get the right mount locations, bushing hardness, etc right the first time.

time is money, man, time is money. the time will eat up quite a bit of cash. but with that being said, you're right, now that i think about it. i'll keep that in mind when i do my k swap since i lack welding skills and equipment.

you think i can use the factory integra mounts of my b18a to take it to said welding shop and have em fabricate em? this is my biggest problem considering doing the swap

front mounts own!! My front and rear tranny mounts are solid now and i love it, except the dash vibrates at idle
