390,xxx Mile Marker, and Water Pump Comparison
Here are some pics after I hit 390,xxx...well 100 miles later lol. Also a few pics of my front interior..I will be posting pics of whole interior later on, cause I know I haven't even posted any. And finally a comparison of the original waterpump(390,000 miles + 21 years) and the new one I put in to remedy my coolant leak.

Wow. Look at how the blades are so much smaller, due to corrosion.

My blades are even bigger than his new one. I have the original Honda one so that's why most likely.

Re: 390,xxx Mile Marker, and Water Pump Comparison
That must be why they make them so thick. I can't imagine the thickness of it doing anything else. I'm blown away your water pump lasted that long!!! I just put a new pump in my car last night, it was in there about 120,000 miles and went bad. I bet your new one is a lot quieter! :D

Re: 390,xxx Mile Marker, and Water Pump Comparison
Very impressive! Has your engine been rebuilt or is most/all of it original too?
-
Re: 390,xxx Mile Marker, and Water Pump Comparison
That old pump doesn't look like the original. The honda ones have stamped blades, not cast.

^I didn't really have any problem with it making noise till right before I replaced it when the gasket died, and the weep hole started leaking.

^Engine has never been rebuilt. Has a lot of new seals and basic maintenance done, alone with new water pum, timing belt, etc. etc. Only major part replace was the tranny was rebuilt a pretty long time ago before we got it.

^Well I don't have a record of it ever being replaced, and I have all major record for this car, theres no record on carfax report either. So unless it was replaced and not recorded then it is the original. I'm pretty sure it was original, it was an OMB or OMG Japan stamped piece.

I am talking about the one you claim is 390k miles old. The Honda pump i have looks completely different from the one you claim is still original.

Re: 390,xxx Mile Marker, and Water Pump Comparison
^Oh well I don't have proof if it being a replacement or an original, but all in all it doesn't matter to me, because my water pump work now and it's new.

I am amazed at the cast iron impellers on a water pump, that is heavyduty and not something I see alot on USDM.
Mushroom_toy you must be a crazy driver, look at the floorboard on the passenger side where they have been trying to put on the brakes:rofl:

lmao...actually when my brother got the car...he sat a battery on the front two floormats in the trunk....well the acid leaked out of the battery and ate up some of the carpet on the front floormats, and ate a hole in the drivers side mat. XD But yeah.....people do hate my driving. :bong:

Agreed. I don't worry about my car overheating after putting a Honda pump and stat in. Runs nice and cool:)

About what temp does yours sit at, or actually what temp does everyones sit at? Mine sits about 1/4th of the way and rarely moves past that now.
