Battery light. Crap.
The battery light started coming on last night. Everytime I got the engine up to some decent RPMs (4000), the light would go off. Sometimes it would stay off, sometimes it wouldn't. If I restart the car, it comes on. Same deal.
Alternator?
yea, probably your alternator
but i would check to see if your battery terminals are clean and the cables are connected tight first
yea, kinda sounds like the brushes (or just one of them) may be stuck in their holders or either worn out, and the contact ring needs cleaning.
Check belt tension too, battery cable condition and ground strap.
Eh, forget checking... I'll just swap my alternator (less than 2yr old) from the old 3g to the new one. 20 minute job.

edit: thats what i did^^^ :)
Yup, tame thing hapened to me like 4 years ago. Ended up replacing the brushed. They're like 10 bucks.
