west coast member FTW.....welcome here im messy....see you around
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
Hey sweet! A 2gee Washington member! Where abouts are you located? I've got this head that you should put on that car. I've been trying to get rid of it, since it's for an '83. It will remove the CVCC setup, and raise your compression. Maybe we can meet up and I could help you out with it! That would be badass! Get some pics of your car! More info on that head on this thread:
https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55998
I just had that head rebuilt, but it won't fit an 81 like my 1g. It will however fit on a 82-83 2gee. I keep whoring the fact that I've got this thing because I drove 16 hours to get it, and spent a weekend in Canada! It's hard to find here, and it would be a badass swap for your motor! :)
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
Ha! That head came from me!
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
Yeah! It's off of his car! I had it all rebuilt, and it needs to get put in somebody's car! There's a dude on Preludepower.com who wants it for his 82 Prelude. He can't pay me for a month or two though. http://roadpwnage.com/forum/Smileys/...t/rolleyes.gif
I'd rather see it go in an Accord anyways!

Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
ya um im still at work so no pictures, but when i get home i'll try to get some up. but ya heres more its a 83 accord 3 door and when i bought it the guy tryed to hide the fact that it had a blown head gasket by not putting any fluid in the radiator. no fluid = no leek into cylnder smart huum... whell to bad for him i happen to like cars and looked over it and figured it out. besides the head gasket and oil seals and the such, everything else is in fine condition. so i figured that out and talked him down to 200$. then i pushed the car 15 feet out of the place called my free brake down service and had the car towed to my house so now as the car sith the engine is redy to come out and then ill re build it. it has a new head so i think ill pass on yours.... sory but ya ill try to get pics lates thanks for the welcome all

oh ya i forgot i live in olympia somebody asked
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
Yeah I asked! Sweet! Where abouts? I'm on the Westside, if you want any help with that car at some point lemme know! I'd love to help. I'm pretty familiar with the EK1, since I've got one apart in my garage right now. :)
Hey, you know what would kick ass? I would just LOVE to compare my EL head to the head on your EK1. I want to see for sure if it's a match, or if all that talk is just rumor. I've never actually heard of anybody with the EK/EL hybrid motor and just to confirm that it works would make my day, week and year!
Man all the 2geez, other than offthahook, are in the Pacific Northwest! That is awesome! I think it's time for him to move out this way so that he can get easier access to parts. ;)

Man, you west coast guys have the old Hondas all to yourselves. That's cool because you have the parts for me, which is extra nice. It's so cool to get nice parts so that people here will say "Damn, that is one clean car!" I'm like "Yeah, it has parts from Oregon, Washington, etc... to make it so fresh."
I will vouch that 2ndgenguy is your hookup on the old Honda stuff. I know he's disassembled enough parts just for me to qualify him as an expert. I'll hold the central coast down with old Hondas; you guys just keep the UPS truck coming! :)
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
wait 2ngen guy how would this be a good setup im not debating i would just like an explnation wiki says this
The EL displaced 1.6 L (1600 cc) and was an SOHC 8-valve engine with a 3 barrel carburetor. Output was 68 hp (51 kW) @ 5000 rpm and 85 ft·lbf (115 Nm) @ 3000 rpm.
so wouldnt this lower the tourqe substancialy from 96 to about 89-90 ish?
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
'76 1600 CVCC was 68 hp (51 kW) @ 5000.
'79-81 1602 NON CVCC EL was 80 hp (60 kW) @5300
I'd have look up '83 EL power, but with the 2nd gen. higher compression pistons & slightly bigger valves I think it was something like 83 HP (?) with better torque as well.
1751 EK with better breathing EL head should be able to improve on both Std. EK & EL figures.
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
Yeah, basically, you have all the torque which I'm guessing comes from the 1800cc bottom end of the EK1, plus you crank up the compression with the 1600CC head, and ditch the CVCC at the same time.

I do believe the 82-83 EL power spec's were the same, but they modified the carb/intake to provide a fatter curve and increase bottom end.
Re: Hello Everyone Xvok Introduction
