Amp suggestions?

I know that this is 3G audio forum, but I need some advice for powering new speakers I'll be getting for my 5th gen. Here's the rundown:

- Front: Infinity Perfect Kappa 6.1 (6.5" components) - RMS: 100w, Peak: 400w, sn: 90db, 75hz-23khz, 4 ohms.

- Rear: Infinity Kappa 693.7i (6x9s) - RMS: 110w, Peak: 330w, sn: 95db, 35hz-25khz, 2 ohms.

I'm basically looking for the best amps to runs these speakers, not spending more than $250 for the amps. I'd need 2 dual channel amps to run each pair because of different impedance, correct? Any suggestions?

So would I be able to run 2x100w rms @ 2 ohms, and 2x100w rms @ 4 ohms on this amp? I'd like to power both pairs of speakers at full capacity.

no u wouldent but i see no point in 2ohm 6x9's plus if u lower the resistance they will last longer

What? I'm not even sure what you mean by that statement. First of all don't run the 2 ohm speakers off that amp unless you run them in parallel. The amp doesn't support a 2 ohm load. If you do run them in parallel your gonna loose your left and right fade. If those are the speakers you already have or are set on find two 2channel amps to run them. I would look for something that could slightly over power them. Just remember not to turn the volume and gain up all the way. If you do this you can avoid the problems involved with under driving speakers, which is usually when the damage occurs. I'm really not sure what ghetto meant about them lasting longer if there 4 ohms. The amp doesn't have to work as hard, but I don't know what affect that would have on the speakers themselves.

Edit: I read the description wrong the amp does support a 2 ohm load. So you can use them like that. The amp will work harder, but that also means more power. I still wouldn't use that amp since you'll have 2 speakers with a 4 ohm load and 2 speakers with a 2 ohm load.

personaly i would not run 6x9's im not an oval man lol but what the use in a 2ohm mid or high thats kind of a low resitstance for such a small speaker

Thanks for the info James. That's what initially thought. So does anyone have suggestions for good 2 channel (2 and 4 ohm) amps?

So I picked out the amps I would want to use with this setup: Audiobahn A4002T for the front and Rockford Fosgate Punch P3002 for the rear. I haven't bought anything yet, and with pricing it out the total comes to:

$216.48 front speakers + $123.90 rear speakers + $224 for both amps = $564.38 without the cables or installation cost. Quality car audio is expensive, huh?

That first 4 channel amp will run all four speakers just fine. It will be capable of sending 50 watts RMS to the front speakers and 100 watts RMS to the rear speakers, due to the lower impedance of the rear speakers.

It is rated for 2 ohm stereo, which is perfectly fine for running 4 speakers, even if one pair is 2 ohm and one pair is 4 ohm.

Lots of people use a 4 channel amp to run two 4 ohm speakers at the front, and then bridge the two remaining channels in to a 4 ohm mono sub. Whilst technically different, your setup results in the same power levels being used.

so some one like me that need 900 somthin rms what options do i have and whats the damage

thats what i plan on doing i have one a4004t and im gona run 4 polk db 5 1/4 of 2 channels in series bridge dropping the ohm to 8 and then one infinity 1052 of the remaining 2 at 100 watts bridged

his fronts were components that sounds about right sor kappa perfect components

id think youd be better off with a used soundstream or phoenix gold amp, i dont think RF or audiobahn amps sound as clean

I think Kenwood amps are nice too...they push out a good amount of nice clean power imo.

Remember to use damping material if you want to get the best out of your system. I haven't put mine in but as soon as I get the chance I'm gonna get right on that. I don't think you'd want to put as much dough into it as I have though...
