First of all let me say hello as this is my first post here.
OK...... Heres the deal. I have an 89 lxi coupe w/ a stock A20 and trans. Anytime I start off in first gear it feels as if im only getting half the power. Just for the first 60 fet or so, then it gets full power. Ive done a tune up on it and cleaned all, you know the small stuff. It still dose it........:gun:
Any help would be LOVED!!!!!!!
What are the rpms when you take off? There isn't much power under 2k rpms so if you are there don't expect much.

Not sure if this will help but have you checked to see if your shift cable is adjusted properly

As for the first reply it happens tryin' to show off or not, its killing me.
:rant: OK...... This sux azz! I ajusted the clutch ( it did need it by the way thanx! ), and it still dose the same thing. :gun: I dont get it. Other than that the dame thing runs like a camp.
If it was the clutch, wouldnt it happen in all gears?
