Yeah i used the wrong fluid. new rack new fluid. now it's leaking here, first it was a cracked hose under the holder now it's leaking in the same spot from this hole on the left i think. I thought it was tranny fluid for a long time kept trying to fill it up and only get a 1/4 quart in it and it start leaking out! now i realize ps weak o well. i heard about this vss leaking into the tranny here somewhere is this true should i change the tranny fluid now?#2
Re: vehicle speed sensor quick question
there are no weep holes in speed sensor.
make sure you have PS lines connected right.
PS sensors do leak and it would be wise to replace it with another one.
make sure you replace the O-ring as well.
Re: vehicle speed sensor quick question
if it goes out can't it l,eak into the trans? i guess i'll rep-lace the hoses completely. left hose to rack right hose to pump right?
Re: vehicle speed sensor quick question
Yes, there are weep holes. There is a passage right above the top seal, that comes down where the two parts of the housing meet. It then splits off to those two holes. If the top seal fails, these to prevent fluid from finding its way up the cable and into your dash. If the bottom seal goes, fluid will leak into the transmission.
Re: vehicle speed sensor quick question
probably all the seals so i'll just swap it and change my fluid thanks guys i thought it was coming from here. WOW that would suck having power steering fluid comin out your dash!
Re: vehicle speed sensor quick question
new vss, new fluid (took me like 15 pints to flush it!) my pump still works and no leaks! YES!
