Well I know a lot of people have owned their accords for a while before joining this site. But its good to know how reliable these cars are. I've owned my 3gee since Sept 2002 but I didn't find this site until Nov 03. Funny thing is I had a few mods done already before I found this site lol

I've had my Accord for almost 8 years now. Wow, I feel old now.
Old? I guess I am not the oldest on this forum at 42, but I might be one of the oldest. I have had my Accord since July of 1989.

My grandmother bought the LXi new at McNatt Honda in Lewisville in March of 89. She was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer a few months later and never really drove it again before passing ownership to me. When I received it there were 1,500 miles on the clock and it had been sitting in my parents driveway for about two months. I would rather not have gotten a new car that way, but I am still quite grateful. A 24-year-old kid in 1989, I was not about to run out and buy a $15,000 car. I still have the original window sticker.
had my 88 lx sense about aug of 04 had the 89 lx sense about june of 06 and the parts car for about 2 weeks now lol
back in 2003 i got my 1st accord 6 months later it failed wof and i got 2nd one in 2004. it had a cracked windscreen so finally at the start of 2005 i got my car.. so 3 years i have owned my current car and i wont be letting it go any time soon either. its gota be the coolest car that came out in the 80s for shore
Nope, your not the oldest, i'm 50 and guess that I am not the oldest here either. I bought mine new at the Honda dealer in July of 1989.Quote:

I've owned my LX-i since July 2000, so just over 7 years now. My mom bought it from the original owner in May 1997. She crashed it in March 2000, it sat for a few months, and that's how I got it :) No regrets.... for a free car it's served me AMAZINGLY well... taken me everywhere I wanted to go and never once let me down :)
Our Accord was purchased new by my Uncle on 12/2/87 and became mine shortly thereafter with 42,xxx mi. The car was scrapped in May '07.
My brother drove it before me, but in my family 6 years.

I've had mine for almost a year. It will be exactly 1 year on Halloween. :D Shes come so far since then.

I think i bought my first one in 1997, second in 1999, and my third one which i still have in 2000 or 2001.
I wish i could have bought one brand new off the lot. Im starting to feel like i have been around for awhile but even after buying my new legacy i still appreciate my accord.
black 89 lx-i sedan: jan 26, 2004 - june 26 or 27, 2007 (scrapped at 235k or so)
blue 88 lx-i sedan: july 9, 2007 - present (rolled over 253k today)
