Re: question about struts
from what i know there re-pairable, but costly to repair, normaly when a set of reds need repaired people send them to koni to get repaied and revalved etc with adjustable damping and such and mostly there upgraded to the all wonderfull yellows, are you getting yours used? new struts should last a while, even more so if your on stock springs or a mild drop
Re: question about struts
I thought you could only buy koni reds used. I'd rather get used konis that I can repair later than get tokicos.
Re: question about struts
you can still get koni blues if i remember right, but there only good for like a 1.5 inch drop max, i know a few people on here are running that set up
Re: question about struts
koni makes blue struts? Or do you mean Tokico blues? can you link me to the konis?
Re: question about struts
yeah the tokico blue are only good for a 1.5 inch drop anything lower is too stiff for the shock even tho some people run 2.25 drop springs and they say they ride fine...but it will blow the shock sooner.

Re: question about struts
haha. It's all good. thanks for the input. I'm still trying to decide, but right now I'm leaning towards the tokicos because I can buy them new.

Bilsteins have a lifetime warranty. Remember, you have to match the shocks to the springs. Get a combination that someone here has already done, otherwise you'll risk being under-damped (pogo-sticking) or overdamped (rattle your teeth).
Re: question about struts
I think I'm gonna go with tokicos and H&R springs. 1.5 inch drop is plenty for me. and it's in my budget :)

Good choice IMO, Thats what I've been running
Re: question about struts
I'm pretty sure that's what BITESIZE runs too, and I'm pretty fond of the way his hatch sits. since it's the only modded hatch I've seen in person it's the only thing I've got to go on.

he is running the sportline springs from eibach...they are said to be 1.4 inch drop but i think its lower because my dx sit lower than my lx-i
