Figured I would start an update thread today as I removed the lip of my car.

and put it in its proper place! lol:

Before removing the lip I also removed a spoiler that the previous owner had put on!

After:

And yes as you have noticed I also added a high flow muffler to give it a nice deep tone.
Thanks for all your opinions on how a 3gee should look
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Good job on the dericeifying, now take care of that rust!
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Yay for removing the Home Depot Lip :D
Car Looks Good, Just make sure to start on that rust ASAP
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Yeah, I will start on rust right after I take care of a short list of mechanical probs. I gotta replace 2 or 3 sensors, a Tie rod is loose so I'm just going to put a new 1 in, and I also have a warped brake drum in the back. Thanks ^_^
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
did that fix work for you?
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Did what fix work for me? The lip removal did, looks better to me :)
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Ah, that I haven't done yet but I will get to it when I have the time, and what should I use to clean it?
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
looks much better without that lip!
the wheels and rust repair will definitely look good too

Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
My future plans are after taking care of the mechanical problems are:
- a nice pair of 17's for sure
- Short Ram intake for sure
- repairing rust issues for sure
- getting a full pacesetter exhaust setup when $ is available
- Sway bar if i can find one
- MSD blaster coil
- MSD ignition if possible
- lightening my car, starting with my dead AC which is not even hooked up LOL
- Possibly installing sport springs of some sort + lower an inch or 2
- possibly a rear disc brake conversion
Its a rough list I am going to take 1 at a time, I'm also going to try to save for another daily driver so i can get rid of my beater car...I'm kinda urking for another Honda of some sort.
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Looks 100x better. Now get the teg lip :)
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Well, i got bored and found out the little piece below my rear tail light that is rusted to all hell is only held on by a light weld and 2 10mm bolts. Today I removed it and am buying the same piece I need off of CAH's parts car ^_^ I'm going to sand it, prime it, and have it matched up to my car's color...it should make my 3gee's ass look a lot better
Almost forgot to mention today its almost 40*f outside! Had to do a little work on my 3gee while it is semi-warm, been a while since ive seen her.

Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
looks like ur going places! wOot!
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
cool. my car rusted there too.. one of those common rust areas lol but its not that bad. unfortunately im going to have to only use filler on mine because its also rusted the body of the car not just the replaceable bit under the tail light.

Ah ouch, yeah i pulled mine off and everything under and around it looks clean, odd how just that single piece got infected...but I'm going to clean the rest off while I have it apart. :)
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Remember to coat the underside of the new panel with anti rust paint.
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Hey, great idea that way the same thing doesn't happen to this piece lol
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Another update! Today I cleared my front turn signals...fun little job  It went smoothly and cleanly, hehe

And here is another pic of the empty hole awaiting the piece to fill it that i ordered from Dark_Accord. It isn't that bad looking in real life, the picture makes it look really dirty but its rather clean inside of it lol

And yes i know...she needs a bath big time lol
Re: Granite's LXi 4Dr Update Thread
Looks good, remove your taillight and spray some anti rust paint or undercoating where that plate goes and that whole non visible area, it'll help it from rusting

Was defiantly planning on it, any kind of anti-rust paint in particular? Will Rustolium work or what would u recommend?
