stupid ecu question

how can you tell if your ecu is not working.... or there is not power going to it... can you tell..? sorry if this is a dumb question..

no such thing as a stupid question....anyhow there is under the drivers seat a box like thing with a small tab on it that opens...flip that tab open and if the led is blinknig in side something is wrong and if its your ecu the check engine light will be on and you will get a code i thing still form the ecu...

so let's just say that the fuse for ecu is blown.. or there is no power going to the ecu... or ecu is just messed up (like not functional) then the check engine light comes on? right?

if the fuse is blown your ECU will not get any power which means will not start the car.
it probably turn, but will not start.

exactly. nothing wont work cause ur ECU controls the fuel injectors and every other damn sensors on ur fuel system, u will be sitting there and waiting for something to happen like alex said, but it will be in vain.
