Changing master cylinder..
Is it as easy as it looks? From what it seems it's just drain, undo the two bolts, slide out, slide new 89 one in, put back in 2 bolts, fill up, and bleed. Am I right?
Never done this before, so I figured I'd ask. This is my braking system Im messing with lol so its a little serious. Thanks guys
Re: Changing master cylinder..
yeah it is pretty much that
makes life easier if you bench bleed the mc b4 you fit it.
hold the mc in a vice, fill it with fluid and use a screw driver or similar to push the piston in.
use your fingers to block off the outlets as you release the piston so air dosnt get drawn back in.
keep pushing the piston in and out until you get an airless stream of brake fluid coming out the ports.
then use the dust plgs that should have come with the mc to plug the ports again until you ready to hook the lines back into it.
then just do a couple confidence bleeds when its in the car.
dont take long at all to do
hour at most
oh yeah ,dont forget to bleed the rest of the brakes aswell just to be sure
