when i have my a/c on sometimes it blows smoke/fog out of the vents. when i hit the a/c button to turn off the a/c the smoke goes away. it doesn't smell like much and the a/c blows cold. when i turn the a/c back on it's ok for a while and sometimes the problem comes back. any ideas???

This has been my observation of the phenomenon over the twenty years I have had mine. It may blow the "fog" on a humid day when you have the vent position set to "fresh." If you switch to "rec" it should stop. On my car when I see the fog it usually means it's time to top off the system with about half a can of R-12. You might think about doing that if you have access to R-12 and a charge gauge.
