Would rebuilding an carbed block be fine to use in my lxi, I plan do the same deal get it hot tanked, decked, bored .20 over, etc. Its basically the same block correct? Will I have any problems in swapping the blocks. Just asking because its extremely easy to just use the block out of my lx for starting the rebuild. :)
I understand they are the same block. Of course the wiring harness is not. Since you are in Gainesville GA I suggest talking to Slack's. Their machine shop did the 1.8 in my son's 88 Accord . Good luck.

Alright I Still have a ton of parts from the parts car and another one I still have stuff from in the building, if you need anything let me know and ill see what i have.
Was that carbed one running? May need one. (good carb) We are trying to be a tightwad on spending till we see how much the head is gonna actually be and get nottom end together. Got a 88 in garage all apart. Bound to need something. Will let you know. Do you check 3geez regularly?
Yup Im on almost everyday, so Just send me a pm. The carb is great but it has a stage 4 vacuum removal on it and some of my hand made block off plates. Yeah the engine ran before I pulled the tranny out earlier this after noon, If the price is right and you pull it. ill sell you the entire engine and carb and you can have the auto out of my lxi too as i dont need it now. Engine has 2xx,xxx miles on it but seems to run very strong from me driving it down the road 2-3 times, and only leaks from the vc gasket as far as I can see. Just lmk.
Also not looking for a gold mine, but I need more rebuild money, so I mainly wanna get the money I put into the parts car back.
The 88+lxi's had higher compression, probably because of less-dished pistons. They also had a bigger cam.
Well mines an 86 and so is the lx....and i have a 272 to go in so lol. :)

Will be in a while....during taking out the auto last night we ripped open one of the water hardlines....so gotta fix that too. :(
