I just added an '87 LX-i 4 door automatic to my project list. It was a theft-recovered California native. It's rust free, runs, and has only 96K miles on it. It does need some TLC....The alternator is hanging by its wires, the driver's door and fender were damaged by backing into something with the door open, and the ignition switch is ripped out and hanging. I went to Pull-A-Part yesterday and among a ton of other things, got all new lock cylinders and a working key. It will probably go up for sale after I'm done fixing and tuning it.

Wow it looks... Uhhh... Great...
For real though, I hope you restore it and post a build thread too. I love watching build threads. :]
Re: '87 California Accord LX-i
LOL, I don't know about great, but I think it has potential. Hopefully it'll make someone a good little car. More pics as progress is made!

are using jack stands on a bike as a make shift work out bike
Re: '87 California Accord LX-i
Yes, it is originally from California. There were a couple of receipts in the glove box with Cali addresses, and the local Honda dealer ran the VIN# and confirmed it was indeed from there. It wound up in Indiana, and was probably ditched because the alternator died. I got it from the Indianapolis police auction.
And yes, the jack stands are serving as a redneck exercise bike.
Re: '87 California Accord LX-i
i was just joking man.. good luck on your project :)
Re: '87 California Accord LX-i
Got the door painted today. Just cheated and did clearcoat over dark grey primer since the whole car has been repainted and I have no idea what would come close to match.

Re: '87 California Accord LX-i
Quick update: haven't made much progress on the LXi since I've been busy instead insulating my garage. Since last time I did get the donor door hung, and got all new brakes installed including wheel cylinders, drums, shoes, pads and rotors. I hate the color difference on the door and got some charcoal grey paint that will be close. Next up will be replacing the alternator and checking out the hard starting/way too fast idle issues.
