honeslty. did what i did. Remote mount power steering. I just looped the lines and added a resivor and waaaalaa rack has oil at all times and no more leaks. YET i never had a problem with my power steering in the first place
If you dont need the room for modifications then i say fix it! I beleive that IF you have a STREET CAR/DAILY DRIVER then it should be easy to drive with all the accesories and bells and whistles. On the other hand if its a RACE/WEEKEND cruiser then it really dont matter.
I like my power steering, every time I get in a Civic I think about how much nicer mine is in parking lots etc. But if that shit breaks it's coming out, it's not that nice.
I personally prefer the cookie
I think I still have a high pressure ps hose if you want it. $15 shipped?
I'm with A18A I want the cookie too!!!
Would you be going to rack and pinion or whatever?
You in need of space? If not, i say keep it. You need an option to keep it and get a cookie...
I am designing a plate that bolts in place of the valve body that loops, seals, and demobilizes the offset pinion holder...
Keep it working, it's a touch of class.
UNLESS you repalce the rack with a proper manual type or closest thing to one that isnt a total duct tape popscile stick rig up.
Rip it out tim.
might as well fix it, it's nice to have for parking, it's one of the first progressive power steering systems made, well at least the first one to actually work. once you are above 15, the high pressure fluid is diverted away from the rack anyway and just circulates
lol wuts really funny is i have a lifetime warranty on the high pressure line from napa but its a pain replacing it...
its a tie! i think ill fix it and if it goes out again ill just say fuck it...
Dont fix it...rip it out. I will persuade you this weekend. Got my engine stand tonight. :)
Power steering. Bah! Humbug!
Oooh, I want to see that. Wonder if it would even work on my 2g 'lude? I suppose I should get down there and see if I can tighten up the rack while the rest of the car is still ripped apart. One of my coilovers is leaking too damn it. :thumbdn:
I think I need a cookie also.
