Yes it kinda is. All the engine I've built ran alot better when I spent alot of time from the head up. And my stageII cam is finished jus waiting for them to open so I can pay for it and get it on the way. So im bout to take the head to the shop in a few to have it shaved down valve job done and cleaned of coarse! :D
Re: porting the a20a3 head
nice job on the exhaust ports too btw

Thanx! And trust me that too alot or time! I had hella crampe in my right hand after doing those!
Re: porting the a20a3 head
Slap a head gasket on there and then open the chambers up to the edge of the headgasket. It will help a LOT for deshrouding the valves. Other than that, it looks great!

I wish you had too! It took me about 4hours to do it.
Re: porting the a20a3 head
Did you use a dremel? I would just be scared that I would take off too much material.

If your going to do it just clean it up real good and make sure u get all the shavings out!
Re: porting the a20a3 head
head looks good...i was trying to remember a company that did head porting for a very decent price
Re: porting the a20a3 head
looks pretty good. Just remember not to polish the intake side that much, just finish it up a bit with sandpaper rolls and such

I never knew of any. All the ones I know of ether was outrageous (so I thought) or wouldnt do it. That why I always did all my own and always made sure I had more than one head when doing a different head for the first time. Besides dont mind the time I put into things like this because that alows me to spend money else where in the project.

I was told that before, some thing about the fuel atimisation or something? Im not sure of the correct term but ill be sure to do that. I just gota find my 1/8in dremel now being I did this with a 1/2in drill. Oh and thanks for the reminder and thank you Messy too.
Re: porting the a20a3 head

Shit do it! We both know that you will gain the most hp by port and polishing that any other mod EXCEPT boosting, nos,or supercharger. And secondly thats the problem with our motors they cant breath and of coarse the long stroke and small pistons which is not a huge problem but would be better if they had short strokes and larger pistons.
