i have a few questions on these carbs....
Is just one more noticible than the stock carb?
Is it street legal?
Will a single or twin DCOE setup pass emissions?
What's the difference between Site's carbs and A20A1's single carb?
Is this a highly recomended mod for carbed A20A1s or would it be easier to work with a EFI swap???

depends on your local laws, but most likely unless you live out in the country where they don't really care its not legal.

Again depends. If its tuned right and you have a cat in place it shouldn't have any problems with a tail pipe sniffer. Most places that test for emissions require all of the oem emissions hardware to be in place, and that all goes out the window.

The single dgv is a preformance replacement carb. It uses the stock manifold with an adapter. Its a decent gain for a small amount of work/time/money. The dcoes are high performace carb. In domestic terms think of the DGV as a holley 650 with a vacuume secondary and the dcoes as a dominator.

Its a little easier or harder depending on how you look at it. You don't have to mess with any wireing or harnesses, and carbs are much easier to troube shoot. The down side is you have to make your own manifold. They can make just as much if not more power then a stock efi setup, depending on what you do to the rest of the motor.
Carbs arnt for everybody. If you want to be able to just hop in the car and drive everytime with out haveing to deal with a moody motor, waiting for the car to warm up, haveing to fine tune your idle, then efi is for you. If you like to play with things can don't mind the car inconviencing you now and then then go for carbs.

and then there is fabrication to do to mount the carbs. id say if carefully tuned with the venturis andy has which are the 35mm i belive emisions should pose no real sniffer problems. but there is a host of other issues. timing kind of a pita but andy should have his perfected really soon. and retouting the remaining vacum. hell if you were creative enough you could even retian the egr but yet agian more fabrication on teh manifold. how much time effort are you willing to invest ??

First off, I agree with everything PhydeauX (Andy) said in his first post. He knows more than me. If it werent' for him, I probably wouldn't have even thought of twin sidedrafts.

I've only had the DCOEs in for a couple of days, and if I had to do it over, I would choose DCOEs again. They perform great, sound great, look great, and there's something cool about telling people you have Italian performance carbs in your 3G that were once fitted to Alfa Romeos, Fiats and Ferarris.
By the way, in my mind I've been pronouncing PhydeauX as "fido", giving it a French feel. Is that right?
i've been watching all you guys with the carbs as long as i've been on the board and i am getting more interested in doing it every day. Site, lately you have inspired me more than anybody to get off my ass, but A20A1 and PhydeauX have always gotten me really intersted. right now i am in college so i have just about zero money, but i am going to seriously start looking into a dgv. where should i start looking for one and where can i get the adapter? are parts easy to get, becasue that is a big concern of mine. and Site, oldschool= the way to be.

-For real! A lot of people on the board used to harsh on the carbed 3Gee when it came to performance. But A20A1's hood scoop/ram air conversion and PhydeauX's DCOEs conversion have changed all that.

If you go for the DGV kit, you should get A20A1 to help you with some ram air. Wouldn't it be cool to use something like this built into a widened foglight hole:

PhydeauX.....whats that about having to make a manifold???
Well no one makes a manifold to mount dcoe carbs to an a20a, so you have to make one yourself.

hey phi... did you polish that manifold after welding? Also, after you welded it out, did you have to port out the manifold to clean out any residual snags from the welding, and to port-match the whole assy?
The manifold was just brushed to get the crap off, all of the aluminum except for the flange was brand new when that was taken. The amount of porting depends on how well you do the machine work. I had to almost no porting on the carb side, I got those to line up perfectly. The head side I had to do quite a bit more, 1/8" had to come off in some places.
