My new Radio project (built in iPhone)
I have a small business repairing iPhones, and decided I would use my large amount of parts to build a simple carputer for the 3Gee. So far I have only started working on the bezel, and putting together the parts to make the iPhone run. Currently I am only using an iPhone 3G, but may upgrade to a 3GS in the future.
This is a picture of the iPhone frame mounted in the ABS plastic. Need to get some filler in there, and paint the whole thing black. I will be placing this in the center console where you would normally store tape decks.

Neat idea! I had a similar idea of flush mounting a dock for my smartphone, that way I didn't have to pay for two service plans, but this is pretty cool!

I had that Idea as well, but i change phones every year or so lol. I'll use my main phone as a wifi hotspot. Otherwise I can fill the thing with mp3's, if I don't want to deal with network issues. It's a 16 gig model, should allow for some music lol.

Lol well not much to update as of now. So far got the gap filled(hard to see cause its clear), and have the phones internals ready to mount. Thinking about also installing a 3.5mm audio input jack as well. Can't seem to find the part I need to mount that. Here are some pics, prepped and ready for paint.
