Just wondering, do any of you running a Dynomax Super Turbo have a part number for the one you used? I've been poking around the net looking and found a couple with 2.25" inlets.

deep throaty tone until 4000 rpm then the engine overrides it. but it doesnt sound ricy and after a while it wont hurt your ears.

Thanks a lot. After pricing import mufflers, I realized that I didnt want to spend that much for a fart pipe. I'm thinkin this is the way to go.
damn! only freakin $31.95!!?? i'm sooooo fuckin on that! question, how much can expect to pay for the custom piping? any recommendations.....guy at this speed shop told me that they couldn't make mandrel bent for my car, i thought this stuff could be custom made tho? any1 in northern VA know a good place to hit up! thx
If the speed shop wont do it, then get pipe from JC Whitney, cut it to fit, clamp it and then carefully drive to the muffler shop of you choice to have them weld it. And if you do find someone to do it, I'd guess no more than $50 if you supply the muffler, though I havent priced it. Input? I'd like to know what to expect. I'd price it for ya but the guy i plan to use is in H-town and Im in A-town
i take u your sentence was supposed to be "if i provide the muffler AND piping" they'll do it for $50? clariy please! thx, what if i don't bend it or anything, i don't know what the hell i'd be doing so if i bought the piping and just told them 'HEY BUDDY, WELD OR SOMETHING' but i'm thinking i want them to do the whole piping thing.
All I have to say is dynomax super turbo mufflers kick ass they are worth a hella lot more than 32 bucks.
Well what i meant was to hook everything up the pipe underneath the car and clamp any joints together. Then take it to the shop where they would remove the clamps and weld the joints. You'd save $$ on the labor for them not having to mock up the exhaust. You'd have to jack up the car, but if you really want mandrel bent pipe (and you should), and they wont or cant supply it, then the extra time and work would be very worth it. Plus you get the satisfaction of having the pipe exactly where you want it. I don't know how much everyone appreciates that, but in my anal-retentive mind, there is nothing more precious than that perfection.
Personally, I'm having a shop do the pipe because I know he'll put it exactly how I want it . He did that for my friends 1970 Firebird and did great work.
I just realized that you might not know that the pipe comes in pre bent sections from JC Whitney. You just have to cut the pipe in a fashion so it routes properly.

if i were you i would call around to strictly muffler shops. they will usally do it for a good price. it also depends on your area. i live in a community were houseing is 350,000 to ???????. so they charge a arm and a leg to fix or get custom shit done. example: my clutch just to get put in(labor only) cost 250+40 flywheel resurface. that the lowest price i could find.
damn, well i didn't know i could alter the rout of the piping, last time i looked under there it looked like honda had created a route for me! i'll have to look again too see exactly which is the shortest route with the least amount of bends, would the stock setup work ok tho?
i dont think thats what he meant. u have to get the jc whitney (mandrel piping) to fit in the grooves already there. just follow the stock piping. your easiest option would be to call around and ask muffler shops if the do custom madrel piping. once they see your stock pipping under neath they will cut that off and redo the piping following the old stock piping that used to be there. think about it if you didnt tuck the piping where honda has made grooves for it then, you would be draging your pipe across the ground everytime you went over a speedbump or the likes of.
Socal is right, I meant to use the stock routing. I'm sure th Honda engineers knew what they were doing when they routed the pipe. And if you can find a shop to do mandrel pipe for you, then by all means use them.
Off topic: Socal, did Lx-i's come with sunroof's? Or did you add one?
this was a discussion i had with other board memebers. and mine came with a sunroof. others tried to tell me that i was wrong but other member confirmed that it was stock. its just that not very many coupes came with a sunroof. So i put in my vehicle id 89 accord lx-i w/sunroof for shits and giggles. :flip:. Most lx-i coupes didnt come with sunroof. :banghead:Quote:

socal... isnt the realistate in SC like $400k-$500k?? I remember in Manhattan Beach a middle class house ran 4 about $520k... damn I sure dont miss that about it....
