Obd2 bluetooth interface for android

Has anyone used one of these before?
Looking for a recommendation for one that will work with an android (Samsung Galaxy 4s)
It's basically a system where you plug in a bluetooth transmitter to the OBD2 port and it communicates to an app on your phone and displays engine parameters and trouble codes
Re: Obd2 bluetooth interface for android
Holy shit, I just asked the same question on another forum. I think I'm going to pick the dongle up when I put in my nest order for my Saturn.
Re: Obd2 bluetooth interface for android
This is the one I have...
http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-...d+ii+bluetooth
It syncs up with my Motorola Xoom tablet just fine, and I haven't had any major problems with it. I know that the cheaper units will start to drop off bluetooth if you start reading too many sensors at the same time. I had this thing plugged into a Prius at one point and it was reading like 30 sensors without issues. It was recommended by the developer of one of the Android applications that I was working with.
Re: Obd2 bluetooth interface for android
cool, from what I'm finding the Torque app is the most popular.
Here's a WIKI on the different communicators:

Re: Obd2 bluetooth interface for android
Yep, Torque is pretty neat. There's lots of other uses for it too though. If you go to the track, and you get a good 10Hz external GPS, you can do all sorts of cool telemetry with them, and real time data overlay on in-car video... Though the Bluetooth GPS receivers seem to have some odd issues with other Bluetooth devices too. The build in GPS in most Android devices is only 1Hz, and there are some delays. But it's all pretty fun to mess with. Not to mention, not having to take your car somewhere to get your trouble codes read. :)
Re: Obd2 bluetooth interface for android
Codes are the reason I want to pick an adapter up. I work on enough OBDII stuff to make it very handy.
Re: Obd2 bluetooth interface for android
i bought one of these too, but unfortunately the bluetooth on my tablet broke lol... so no i have it i might send it back. i paid the 23.99 shipped from amazon for the BAFX version. it synced great at first now my tablet is shitting out cus it won't pair with my plantronics ear piece anymore.
