Headwork/cams and the limitations of OBD0
Im going to be picking up an junkyard head for a cam core for regrinding. Since Ill have an extra head, I'd like to dig in and see what I can do. Im totally enthralled by the headwork ive see from rjudgley and others, but am wondering if id be skipping a step doing headwork on a F/I without first doing OBD1 conversion?

You'll gain more by tuning the engine after the cam and ported head, but you can run them as is for now. I prefer Megasquirt to OBD1, though. It sucks to get an MS car running if you're new to it, but with Tunerstudio's Auto Tune function, you can be running around on a fairly decently tuned car by simply driving it.

So OBD0 will accomodate for a hot cam and a head with work done?
Sounds good to me

Well, depends on how hot. If it's hot enough to affect the manifold pressure very much the ECU won't like it. Any of the stage 1 cams (272 for example) should be ok. Stage 2 (282+) would be pushing it.
