Well you read right guys i have another one. We are selling the odyssey and i have bought this $300 gem for the mrs to cart the baby around in.

The problem is theres no pics of the whole car cause the weathers been too shit to take it out of the shed!!

Its a 1986 honda Accord 2.0Si. Stock as a rock Unmolestered car that some old people that couldn't drive anymore had parked in their shed for a year. Its done 212000kms and the service history states that the cambelt was changed, coolant system flushed and trans flushed all by the same garage at 202000kms. the engine oil was newer but still looked black.

First thing i noticed when i drove it home was the auto box shudders into 2nd badly. No biggy ill replace it.
Second problem was the temp guage. stayed right down on cold and didnt move up unless you left it idling. Opened the radiator cap and found this:

So much for a coolant flush 10,000kms ago. what did they put back in there? Sea water??
Figured the thermostat was fucked too and sure enough:

Fixed all of that up and then discovered a water leak from the back of the engine. whip te do. Someones been down there with silicon so i hacked apart the engine bay to pull this out. and i can see why its leaking.

But it looks like this, No Oring either just heaps of grey sealant:

Put the new pipe in and away it went, no more leaks. Second thing that bothered me was the symphony of tapping coming from under the rocker cover. So off it came and out came the feeler blades. All the tappets were out by a mile. Shes runs quiet now! Cleaned the gold rocker cover too while it was off.

and the OEM lip everyone wants. its been damaged on the RH side. ill send it away to get plastic welded.

The body of the car is pretty good for its age. rust isnt too bad. all the tyres are mint

Nice find! Sounds like a few typical tweaks and you have a great cart around vehicle indeed!

Sweet optioned out factory ride right there! Pretty damn clean too. It does look like someone ran just water in it though, explains all the corrosion and why that steel pipe rotted off. Or it was leaking and they kept topping it up with water.

Excellent find! You can go ahead and just ship me that lip......

wheels will be here next week. and i bought some good tyres for $20 each too. the car came with two near new 195/60R14 on the front. now i have another two for the rear same brand and all. choice.

I remember a few years ago, Kelly Blue Book would dock the value of a used car if the tires weren't all the same brand. They've since had the good sense to get rid of that.

Only the back wheels are on now i didnt get time at work to fit the fronts. ill do it tomorrow.

Will chuck some decent shocks in it and lower it a bit and it should be mean
