Looking good! Sucks about that rust spot on the fender though :(
Meh, not so bad,
$15-20 at the local Pick-n-pull for a new one :-)
I have to paint the whole car yet anyway

Down to the left under the insulation along the bottom of the door.

All secured all the way to the back, Used a small drill bit and self tapping skrews

Pops through under the rear passenger seat
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/2... 19.56.45s.jpg
I moved the fuel filter to the Gas Tank, I dont know why it's just not under the hood anymore lol
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/2... 20.37.24s.jpg
I had 3 extra fasteners, This is the positive power cord running on the passenger side of course :-) It's just sitting loose here no battery...
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/2... 20.37.18s.jpg
Temporarily ran like this I had lots of extra 2ga Power wire
So i'm basically done. I have more Rubberized sound dampener so that is what I'm going to finish today... put the wheels back on and go for a test drive
*Le Sigh*
So.... even tho the parts store sells rubberised fuel injection line it's not legal to have it as fuel line. Like WTF.
SO.... I need to put in the Steel line in, I didn't have this line originally becuase this car started life as a Carb model... so no fuel return line to the tank.
I wish I read this closer: https://www.3geez.com/forum/how/112-c...-injected.html
When I started this poor EXI was in good shape....
3 hours later.....
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/oops.jpg
I had to pull: rear seat (most of it), driver seat, carpet on the driver side of the car, the dash, the heater core the steering colum, the pedals and thefirewall insulation
Like the orange color. Looks good. Think you need a new box for your blower. lol
haha the pitcure is of the car at the wrecker not my baby... mine actually looks worse some how at this second... But I'm off work now so.. .. here I go!
So, I got at her last night again,
Drilled a hole in my firewall for the new line,
Installed the steel fuel line and secured it all the way back
Re-installed the firewall insulation
Re-installed the Wiring harness
Re-installed the Blower Motor
Re-installed the Heater core
Re-installed the Duct between Blower and Heater Core,
Re-installed the steering column
Re-installed the Dash and Gauges
Re-installed the Pedal assembly
After all this I went to go test my brakes... no brake lights :-(
So, I went back a couple pages to my self done safety inspection and I found I had no brake lights then either...
Which.... Means..... I was driving around town with no brake lights..... For a while... awesome....
https://www.3geez.com/forum/technical...t-working.html
Great Thread for Brake light troubleshooting. :-) Sticky?
I had the same issue, thanks to the above post I visually inspected my fuses and found bad ones,
The other issue however, my brake switch didn't have 4 pins mine had 2.
I think the difference is between cruise and non cruise,
I need the different switch for my brakes I just realized, off to the wrecker I go lol
**EDIT** I'm back and simply switching the switch on the brake pedal resolved this concern, Also the wiring at the bulbs was all rusty... cleaned it all up and I have brake lights again!
Over and over and over again I find usefull information on this site!! You all rock... Thanks again!
( I just found out that I forgot to grab the second ECU under the passenger seat of the EFi models )
Well, As it turns out I had the relay I needed but grabbed the grey ECU box... I think it's for the power locks? Anyway my harness is happy now with no dangling connectors lol
I got my car up to 190 degrees last night, the thermostat opened and I had flow, I was happy :-)
No fan running tho... and considering it's -15 to -10 C (5 to 15 F) right now I doubt it's going to get to the 220 degrees Fahrenheit needed for the fan to turn on.
I did the "Jump the temp sensor at the bottom of the Rad test" and my fans kicked on :-)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!
I may be ready for safety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
Dang lol keep running into snags found out my reverse lights are not working I have connected the two wires off the tranny to the Green/black and yellow at the automatic shifter location, still no reverse lights.
Going to grab a couple sensors from the wrecker tomorrow to check that.
Got some odds and ends today. Resolved my brakes issue for real this time haha feel like I run into every issue I can with this car. All in the learning I guess All Bulbs and wiring at the tail lights replaced and the 3rd brake light bulb replaced as well. No more warning light on the dash every time I hit the brakes :-)
The temp sensor on the top of the motor was rotted, replaced that today as well.
Here are my upgrades I cleaned them up using sandpaper and then toothpaste :-)

^ TEMPORARY until after the inspection
Great work man! Glad you are getting this bad boy road worthy still. What all do you have left?
Going for a test drive this morning...but not much!!!!!!!! like... maybe ... oh i need to replace the lock on the driver door :-)
Yesterday I fixed my reverse lights, I was having the damndest time gettin gthem going after the swap.
I read https://www.3geez.com/forum/technical...s-mt-swap.html
and I put the wires together but again like other have said no power to the Switch.
I ended up running a wire from the tranny to the interior fuse box. From Fuse #2. This new wire is the yellow wire. I ran the other half of the switch directly to the wiring harness. In my case I spliced it into the harness right beside the drive seat.
Reverse lights work again!!.... spent ALL damn day on that one.
Yay! Pulled her out of the shop and ripped around the neighborhood for a bit darn thing never went above 180-190 degrees F Good I know :-) lol
No shifting issues, no issues with the cv's as far as I can tell.
I have an issue with my headlights intermittently not working on high beam very weird.
I relocated the battery BACK to the engine bay. Re-installed the battery try of course as well.
Tightened up the Front bumper and Bumper Cover.
Buttoned up all the dust shielding under that area as well.
Tidy'd up most of the wiring harness with electrical tape and Zap Straps.
once I figure out the headlight intermittency issue ... and maybe bleed my brakes...... I am pretty sure it's 100% time for safety!!
Headlights are still being intermittent, but most of the time they work... like 1 in 5 times the high beams don't work.
Tested my Hazards (forgot to last time) and they're also working..... Even tho they take a few seconds to activate.
I need to:
Get weather stripping for one of my doors,
Replace all the grommets on the firewall
repair a small bit of body work at the rear driver passenger door.
Just when I think i'm done it's like FU!! MORE WORK!! lol "ok ok ok soon enough I'll be done!
YAY FOR PROGRESS!!!!!!!!! atleast the list of work that needs to be done isnt to bad ! sounds like she will be back on the road in no time :)
The body work I tackled today:

So I took it for a test drive that day,
Battery light is on.....
Pulled the battery cable with car running and it died,
Altenator toast :-( Picked up a new alt today from the junker and replaced it, Test fire tonight when I get off work :-)
If the alt is fine and the headlights are working normally I Think I'm ready for safety...I think lol
Alternator is fixed :-) Headlight switch 50/50 so im just going to just try i think, quick test drive tomorrow but i honestly think that's it i'm applying a couple more coats of the undercoat just to hide a couple more little spots :-)
SOB.... My gas gauge isn't working, I'm going to fix that before bringing it in.... Man I tell you this safety is getting annoying....
Try a California smog check.
Hooked up my new Gauge Cluster..... Headlights wont work now... FML lol..... Well fuck haha this car.... I tell ya... hahaha

good luck man!
Well, I failed but all this is easy to fix all the electrical shit passed :-) :-) Off to the wrecker in the am :-)
EDIT just priced this all out at the wrecker and it's going to cost about 250 before tax if I get everything individually, however I think if you take the works they give you a discount AND it's easy lol maybe get them down to 150-200 :-)

Wow. I can see ball joints and brake pads, but hood rods and seat belt holes? You have to be kidding me.
lol whatttt
We don't have safety inspections of any kind here in California. We also drive very old cars because there is no rust or harsh weather to destroy them. Yet somehow we don't have massive casualty counts from our seat belt holes or missing hood props. Heck, we have ball joints come apart on the road and there are no giant pile-ups. How do they justify forcing everyone to pay for those inspections up there? Are there any hard numbers to support the scheme?
It's all about $$$$... Some provinces up here require YEARLY safety inspections. One rust hole, exhaust leak, or dead light bulb will cause a failure. Also, my auto registration sticker costs $140 per year..
At the same time, this car has multiple serious issues.. Ball joints, wheel bearings, brakes, tie rod end.. Yeah, I wouldn't have wasted my money on the inspection.
The reason the officer requested the major inspection was because it was probably deemed unfit for the road, and frankly looking at all of the issues, I probably would too. Something must have really pissed off the cop, or the car had blatantly obvious mechanical issues that got the cop worried enough to force an inspection. Gets the unsafe and sketchy shit off the road. Not really a cash grab as it forces slackers to fix their death traps properly so that a mechanical or structural failure on the death trap does not cause a major accident and wipe out some other unsuspecting motorist.
I think inspections are a wonderful motivator to keep a vehicle in good working order at all times. I hope they start doing them yearly actually, instead of Aircare/smog.
Just my .02
Some of those shops in BC are retarded for the stuff they mark as unsafe... First inspection I took my car for in Van, the guy said my seatbelts failed because they didnt recoil under no tension fast enough... Yet acknowledged that the locking mechanisms and buckles worked perfectly well. It's a 25 year old car... not a new car. He also said my car wouldn't pass with some buttons/switches not in the dash and their holes open... how is that a safety issue if I don't have a blank where the cruise control switch is supposed to be??.... So I found another shop through a friend and passed without any issues.
Good luck getting yours sorted and getting through the inspection.
Well...
I did piss off the cop BUT not intentionally
My car had no visible rust but it's Primer Grey n Orange and it's lowered so it does look heatscore.
What it was in the end was the cop was dumb to what makes a car road legal or not.
He Pulled me over for FAILING TO YEILD (which I admitted to) and saw that I had no seats except my driver seat and he had a Kanipshit.
Once I told him that you legally did NOT need seats beside the driver seat he thought I was lying to him. He called his traffic cop buddy and I heard him say " well he needs seats doesn't he? " LOL
Anyway he let me slide for the fail to yeild but hit me for a Box 1 Vehicle Inspection
I have not worked on the car since the day of safty, I'm going to pick it up again in the next week or so...
Right now however I've got a serious.....serious.... addiction to minecraft... lol
Happy 420 Everyone!!!
