Haha nice.
And I want that SOHC NOTEC stickers.
LOL....people laugh...and its funny at the light they ask me...are your serious...IM like Yeeea..lol.
So Rendon, after seeing that you made a catch can which is fairly simple and gets the job done. I received a small kick in the ass (which is what i needed) and began to look around the garage to see if i had something that would #1 work #2 be durable #3 look some what professional.
i spent an hour or two looking at spray paint cans and shit of that nature. Everything looked or would have looked gay.
So being a bit discouraged i was contemplating opening a box of Coors light and forgetting that i even thought about it.
At the same time my wife yelled at me to get these old empty propane bottles out of the laundry room.:Owned2:

if you want a write up let me know. I am going to try to keep it simple to make.
SHIT make me one....I pay bro...
Vented catch can setup is the way to go.......Are you going to add some fittings to your V/c...with sime nice hoses....Doing that you can elimalate the pcv system...eastery setup...I was going to get the moroso vented style...WHAT you did looks close enough to specs of a moroso can. Damn dude.....
Let me guess
You drilled a hole just slight bigger so you can screw a flared brass fitting so it can make a good seal..added a Filter. Now you would have to do the same. I was woundering? does it matter where you put your fittings. THe purpose of a catch can is to catch oil...if there right accross from each other. it wouldnt work proper....SO in a angle of some sort. Yet adding 3 grade steel wool or anyway to baffle it to catch oil..... Anywho...a write up would be nice or i could just buy one from you
holes are drilled slightly smaller to allow for threading of 1/2 " slip/threaded coolant fittings wrapped in tef tape.
I wanted to keep it simple so that anybody could make one without the use of a welder and to keep the budget in check.. So there is no internal baffling besides as you pointed out the use of steel wool.
i could split it and put in 2 or 3 plates 2 different grades of wool but that would defeat my intention.
I placed the fittings about 3/4's of the way up from the bottom.

now I am no expert and there are other's on the site that know a hell of allot more on catch cans than i do, but i think this will do fine.
On the question of the fittings being right across from each other. It's hard to say with the steel wool in the mix.
the steel wool is going to slow the charge of both lines, but the two lines pushing against each other could cause some back pressure at high flow rates.
edit: Sorry if i thread jacked you. I am puting together a write up for it though.
No no....very good info bro...Umm ill have to do that...Can you get a pic up close on the top..would be great?
alright i did some research and it seems that every thread i read said that you need baffles. The thing that baffles(lol) me is that giant's like Greddy do not use them in their cans. so ?
I went ahead and cut the can in half and put in a baffle. There goes the easy no welding necessary catch can.
I'll still do a non baffled wright up though.
Anyways, i got a couple of top pics.

let me know if these will do. My filter is a slip fit after modifing it with a razor knife.
i used a 1" copper flaring tool after i drilled a 7/8" hole.
you will just have to match the grommet section of the filter you buy.
You can still use a no baffle can...thats how my Egay can is like...BUt im going to do it righ get that nice vented baffle catch can...THis would work....DAMN dude thats a HUGE HOLE lol. SOB...what kinda of fitting you using? 5/8s?....Just make me one and ill pay you...NO REALLY LOL
Well little update....Got my switch wire right LOL, added a sticker for the techs to see. and i finished my Vented Catch can that 89T Made.. Mines not as good as his but looks legit..now i have to test it...i turned it on but my fitting is leaking on my valve cover so i put some jb weld. LOL

Blurry but you see how it can stand out...
One thing i yet have to do. is Add a inline fuse wires up from the battery to the side i want power to when the swtich is off...JUst enought juice to keep my alarm and w/e good but if some tryes to turn the car on...POPgoes the fuse.
Sweet dude that looks good! What is that silver can next to your fancy green can?
Thats my other catch can...its connected to the PCV line then to the turbo..Talk bout no crankcase pressure LOL
its sexy and you know it
:rice:
LOL....O i know bro its so so so rice...
CAH. YOU KNOW IT BROTHER LOL
2 catch cans very nice. I still need to get one. ha
Rendon, I think I'm going to do that same kill switch man. I think Chris might have done the same thing. Except mine is in the middle of the taillight, so I don't think I could put that sticker there. Also, not sure how I feel about forgetting to take the key out of the kill switch, then have someone jack the key and leave me stranded. Guess I can just keep a spare in my wallet or something.
thats why you put a inline fuse from walmart put one end on the battary and the other to the side thats the main line. put a 30amp fuse...so when you turn the key off and PULL it out like mine you there enought power to keep your alarm and memory for w/e you got...ANd if someone trys to start it the fuse well pop...and no go....
^^ smart move. Can u take the key out when it switched to on?
No...but with that fuse you can turn off the key and pull it out and go inside or w/e...
Update i just put the inline fuse in and works like a dream...i tryed to start the car an the fuse pop way b4 i tryed to....good deal now im happy...i was stressiing when i was going into the store or w/e and im like fuck someone going to pull my key out and im fucked lol. now i just turn it off yet my car still have power and take the key with me no worrys WOOT.... k now i need to run 2 more wires and im ready for portland lol
ya i was thinking that to...but doing that takes alot of time...took me 10 minutes to do this and its legit bro.
