Yeah that's unbelievable. My 3G has receipts for the cambelt (but no water pump) and it came to NZ$250 which is like under US$200.
Even my Torneo, which had cambelt, waterpump, auto tensioner, balancer shaft belt and some other tensioner or bearing thing replaced (all parts to suit a H22A) came to just under US$500. That includes 3.5 hours labour.
yeah it a rip off out hereQuote:

i did timing belt....tensioner, water pump both drive belts and a adjustable cam gear in less than 3 hours
:( shit i wish we would have moved to bullhead.... how much dose a impact wrench cost and is there a chance of braking anything?Quote:

Timing marks need to be triple checked and the correct procedure needs to be followed for tensioning. $20-$30 for the belt and the same for the tensioner. If you want to replace the water pump it's like $35. The water pump can be done separately, as it is not driven by the timing belt on our vehicles.
the 3gee is being a anal P.O.S. the last few days the belt wont stop squking it is smoking all the time and stinks cuz the valve cover is leeking a sjit load of oil the crack on the window got worst it wont start unless i beet the shit out of the battery wires it and it backfires every 5mins lol https://www.3geez.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif
but i still love it :D just mad at it i need to get a belt on monday i just hope it last that long it is really rotted

If you are feeling adventurous, you could do a valve adjustment while the VC is off. All you need is a set of feeler gauges, a 12 mm wrench, and a flathead. You should borrow a timing light and check the timing.Quote:
