Good news!! We are going to be at C.B. (and you all better be there!!) Spoke to GGNRA officer...Your own BBQ is allowed if large enuf size of plywood is placed so any spittin' embers don't cause a brushfire. I have a small BBQ to bring (it's the REALLY small one Weber puts out) but I don't think that may be enuf if we don't get the pit. All places for reservations is for larger groups and at this point too late. I will go to C.B. and try to hold the pit anyway. Our backup plan is my small BBQ & I'll look for a 4x8 plywood. We are having our BBQ!! The officer said this coming Sat. will be as busy as this past & since c.B. and all the other sites with any pits are "first-come, first-serve," I hafta get there early. Beach opens at 6AM :( Well, I'll make the sacrifice and sit for hours in front of the CB pit 'til you all get here.

I looked around for a piece of plywood and couldn't find a 4x8 sheet so I went out and bought one....PLUS I got a wire brush/scraper thang -- all thanks to Home Depot. Again, my Weber is a "Smokey Joe" small one -- big enuf to cook 2 or 3 burger patties at a time as a backup. Me and my wife unit will be looking forward to all you all's arrival. I jes hafta get my mind set on gettin' to C.B. at 6AM :( Wish me luck.
