Re: A18A's 1989 Accord CA Thread
Well what I did was, after unlocking the car and openning the door, I put my key in the ignition and turned it to "ACC" and pressed play on my MP3 player so i could listen to music while i done the work. What I did was got a phillips screw driver & started removing all the screws in the drivers door panel, I had to remove one of the screw covers with a flat blade screw driver first though. After I got all the screws out, I carefully removed the speaker cover & door handle surround. Then I put a flat blade screw driver between the door panel and door, and moved it along the outside till it got close to the clips, then i pryed them apart. once that was completed, I lifted the door panel upwards from the door, once it was separated I unplugged the window switches plugs & the door panels light to seperate the door panel from the door completely.
then from the DONOR door panel i undone the screws on the back holding the arm rest to the door panel, after that came off, i undone the 4 screws holding the window switch to the arm rest. the same was done to the grey door panel. After I was done removing the faulty switch from the grey arm rest, I installed the good switch into it, then reinstalled that into the grey door panel. then after that I installed the door panel back on the door, pretty much the reverse sequence of its removal. after the finishing touches of installing the door handle surround, speaker cover & screw cover, it was complete & i was good to go :)

what kind of nut sack goes and welds this thing on backwards??
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/617...0962medium.jpg
anyways i spent most of the day removing just that exhaust because 1 nut that holds the downpipe to the manifold failed so bad that a smaller socket bashed over it wouldnt get it off, and i have limited tools, so i had to lower the cross member, remove the engine mounts & radiator fan & other misc items just so i could fit the grinder down there and get it off.. all that just cause of 1 nut gah.
anyways old with new

evidence of some leakage
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/318...0966medium.jpg
i stuck heaps of gasket sealer stuff on them all when i put it back together and now the car is QUIET yay!!! i think i may have to swap the muffler again though as something back there fails and keeps hitting something gr

When pulling out the engine in the Accord the same thing happened with one of the nuts holding the exhaust to the manifold. Much time wasted..Finally got out the Dewalt and cut the exhaust since I was pulling the engine.
Re: A18A's 1989 Accord CA Thread
i got these really mint pre facelift tail lights
http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/9...01229large.jpg
and i wanted to install them, but we all know that to do that properly i need the matching boot lid, unfortunately i don't have one, so i decided to see if there was a way i could make them fit. so i put them on the boot lid to see how they would look, just needed to make a couple holes bigger for them to fit and there we go
http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/7702/s5301241medium.jpg
but that lack of plate surrounding bothered me, so i got the old one which was cracked and looked ugly
http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/495...1245medium.jpg
and shopped off the ends
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/9...1246medium.jpg
and stuck it on
http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/6...1254medium.jpg
yay, now just needs a bit of bog or something, and some black paint. this should do the job good enough till i can get me a mint pre-facelift boot lid.
i also swapped in some key-hole-less front door handles

i spent a lil while today cleaning up the engine bay some, swapped P/S hoses for one that was made for a b20a, just to be that little bit more factory looking, hosed the motor down (i wish i had a water blaster) and the engine bay of random fluids, painted p/s resivoir black (done that the other day actually) and some other little bits and pieces lol. looking betterer now, heres some photos
