Re: Portland, Seattle, Washington, Oregon Meet!!! June 20, 2009 PIR
Sweet, yeah I saw that on your update page. Glad you got it running. Screw the interior. I'm driving down with no interior in my car, since I threw away my carpet, and my back seats are shot. Just focused on getting the car drivable. It's pretty much there. I drove around a whole bunch this evening. And it's running pretty good. A little alignment, and some fine tweaking on the carb, and she'll be rocking! Can't wait to head down!!
Alex, you should just bring that sway bar. Once someone sees it, I'm sure they'll take it off your hands. Impulse sales FTW.

I'm wishing I had more time to work on my car. My interior is gonna be kinda torn to hell. No passenger side door panel. Unfortunately I ran out of time with all the crappy engine things that needed to be fixed.

That shit was hilarious. John :barf: in a trash barrel, and then Turk under glass. :D

heh agreed. I'm putting a new clutch in before I throw the motor back in, so that I can break it in on the way to Portland. Spend the day dynoing it, and drag racing it. Then have it nice and broken in for autocrossing when I get back to Boise.

Re: Portland, Seattle, Washington, Oregon Meet!!! June 20, 2009 PIR
I'm stoked for this meet. I've kinda hit the panicking stage though since I still haven't got the engine back into the car. Tomorrow is the day I'm hoping. All I have to do it rebolt the transmission on, and throw the motor back in.

Re: Portland, Seattle, Washington, Oregon Meet!!! June 20, 2009 PIR
Wow! 16 pages of meet and greet stuff?? I might make the next one. My 3g just came home after almost a year at my brothers. I'll be down to race anyone with stock internals, N/A.

Are you sure your car will make it, because I don't think I have faith that my 3gee would even make it.
You don't have cruise control either. I think we should take my 98 accord with cruise control, A/C, comfortable seats, cupholders, comfy ride, 40mpg.... :help:
P.s. Will I go deaf riding in your gutted hatch with the loud exhaust?

Why don't we just take both cars, and make a road trip out of it? I'm really wanting to throw my car on the dyno, and see what my 1/4 miles times are.
I'm nearly 100% positive that if I can get the motor back in it I can make it to Portland no problem though. It sees much worse at the autox's.

Re: Portland, Seattle, Washington, Oregon Meet!!! June 20, 2009 PIR
I can't afford the gas. I barely have enough to go. I'm taking $150.00 so I hope thats enough to play, eat, and hotel. We just need to have a plan just in case it breaks down. I just worry too much. I'll bring some tools, Mainly the ones used on 3geez, and we'll take some spare oil, water, anti freeze, make sure the spare is good, etc.

I'm definitely bringing my tool bag, and I'm gonna go take the car out for a decently long drive after I get everything put back together to make sure it's all good to go.
The reason I'm not worried about anything breaking is thanks to my dad and over engineering everything I have him make for me. I kinda picked up on it, so I go overboard with repairs making sure something like that never breaks again. Aside from the motor mount issue I've never had a single thing on this car break.
This time that stupid L bracket is getting tack welded to the block. Little bastard isn't gonna fall off again. :rocket:

Re: Portland, Seattle, Washington, Oregon Meet!!! June 20, 2009 PIR
You're foot will be tired after 7 hours of driving there lol. Just kidding, we'll switch off driving.
Can you weld metal to cast iron?
-
Re: Portland, Seattle, Washington, Oregon Meet!!! June 20, 2009 PIR
Estimated Time: 6 hours 56 minutes Estimated Distance: 427.70 miles
Do you have a radar detector. :)

not really, no. You can weld cast to cast, or steel to steel. I'm just gonna have my dad tack weld the bolts in place so they can't back themselves out again. I'd use the red threadlocker, but I'd rather have the peace of mind of welding them in. Especially since there's no reason at all to have that bracket be removable. It's not in the way of anything.
Damn Honda for being dumbasses on some things.

lol, no. Do you?
edit: you may very well go deaf in my car. Either I'm going deaf, or the exhaust isn't at loud as it used to be though. We also need to talk to 2ndGenGuy and find out where he lives if we're staying at his house the night before the meet.
