nah man I'm just playing. I have some clothes designated for 'garage clothes' and they all look like that if not worse.
Keep up the work man, you're right there, just need to button up a few small things and she's off to the races.

hope that a20 does not let you down
Well, I'm glad you made some progress on your car! At least the starter turns over now. Now if it's not starting, back to the basics, fuel and spark.
except not only does it start, but it runs. So fuel and spark should be good. I'm pointing my finger at electrical.
Oh it runs now? Well what's wrong then?
Yes the engine runs, only timing is off. need to find that sweet spot.
But yes it want start with the ignition key. Still no Idea what could cause the problem. My last reserve is to run direct wire from ignition key to starter motor.
I guess its time for a little update here.. Been busy last 2 weeks so didnt had the time to work on it until now..
So far done, Engine tuned, timing is spot on now.
Changed shocks, now its 50/40mm lowered.. looks sexy
figured around my starting problem. I bypassed tru switch.
and some other mix stuff, havent driven her yet but I plan on it today.
Well here are some pics.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde006-2.jpg
Guess what this is for? You guest it, its a starter switch. Works only when key is on 2 position. I used headlamps washer button.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde008-2.jpg
my very short shift
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde009-2.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde011-2.jpg
I had to rice her up a bit with these
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde003-2.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde010-2.jpg
and I LoL'd at this
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3.../Bilde0011.jpg
Well I still have to take her for a spin and wash her and will be doing a photoshoot, I find my neighborhood boring for pics.
God I missed my car, here is why :D
goes lik a bullet, it refuse to go under 90km/h or 55 in your terms.
Well I tried to drive, film and shift gears at once so dont be scared when it seems and sounds like I'm of the road and crushed and 3geezus came down for me.. lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9G--QQsRFE
and my start button..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiOsmRb5Htc
I love this thing.. like a little boy, was plaing all day with it..
Nice! :D
Love that starter button, kinda works like an anti-theft device too if you don't know it's there.
Yeah you need to get some more pics up when you wash it, and lol at the Kiwi rush rims.
I guess I add it here.. I had my spark plug broken inside the head, BAD LUCK I say, but nothing to worry about, have to fix that now. How I dont really sure yet. I have 3 options
*1 Change the head
*2 bore it out (but glass chips will fall inside, need take the head off anyway)
*3 Weld a Nut on it and try.
Well Thats what shady mechanics do when they f*ck threads inside the head and dont tall you about it. I never changed plugs on this engine so its not me who broke threads, that caused that madness and nightmares for me.
here is pics
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...o/Bilde004.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...o/Bilde005.jpg
see on the second pic? those threads are also ruined so, need to be careful as I dont have Hali-Coil to retread it again..
And its part a bad design to the head from honda, as Cylinder one has less space to reach to the plug than other 3 do. As you all know, its 2 types of Spark Plug design, one use small nut, the other use big nut. Well those heads designed for small type. and I bout big Nut type plugs..
Well lill update here..
I have a power lose in corners and hard braking, I found out why.. Well my Gas filler tube is rusted and there is good deal of rust inside the tank, I few days ago swapped fule pump from my parts car and now its full with rust particles. and I drained all gas out the tank and find thick layer of mud there.. it sucks as Now I have to swap out tanks. what a bitch job that is.. lots of tubes and hoses. but anyhow. Pics will be later. today..
Take a tour in my gas tank..
Here an old Fuel pump
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde011.jpg
New fuel pump (after 2 days inside)
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde002.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde003.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde004.jpg
Inside the tank
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde005.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde006.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde007.jpg
and that is why, inside filler tube is rusted
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde008.jpg
and someone found that it will be good idea to mold it in fiberglass..
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde009.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde010.jpg
Now If I touch it I need to mold it or weld it.. Well I dont have any choice but to mold it as I dont have new panels and welding machine here..
^^^ Yikes, thats kind of scary... lots of rust there... not such a good thing in the fuel system.... I would imagine you will also want to change your fuel filter after you change that out too.
Yes will do that too.. only problem now is to take down the tank.. there are just to much hoses and clams, dont want to cut anything..
will be ordering new fuel filter and change that also..
There's lots of water in there. Time to flush the tank out well, and maybe re-evaluate your gas station.
Done som progress today..
took down Gas tank off my Gray Accord with filler tube, cleaned it and resprayed with the Tank.
Before
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde000-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde001-1.jpg
After
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde002-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde003-1.jpg
took some time to get old tank out mostly because all bolts were so rusted that I had to use undersize wrenches to unbolt them.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde007-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde006-1.jpg
see^^ the mount rotten away.
Then I cleaned under lid, got rid off old filler and resprayed it, masked from behind and will be filling it out later with more body filer. Have no choice but to do this. Will be redoing this later on, when I go loose on rust.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde004-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde009-1.jpg
very nice man.....clean work
Out with old, Inn withe new :D
It makes me smile just to look at it!!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde010-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde011-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...h/Bilde012.jpg
Ouh and I also scraped rust with metal brush and sprayed it over with black, just to keep moisture out for few more months. as you all know that when rust gets thick it keep moisture inside longer and there by rust more..
Dont have finish pictures but progress is here
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde005-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde008-1.jpg
thanks Randon, I try to be that way :D
You can get a replacement fuel filler area directly from Honda. They're cheap too. You just need to remove the old one and glue the new one in.
^^Unfortunately replacing it is not that easy though since it is in between the quarter panel and the inner fender and there are also welds holding it to the quarter panel. It is easiest to do if you are replacing the quarter panel at the same time.
Tom, werent the 2 bolts holding the tank straps a cunt to remove? They always tend to be so rusted that they snap when you start turning the nuts. I hate those 2 bolts lol.
Good thing you got the other fuel tank mounted. Looks like you've been playing around with a rear wheel arch replacement panel on that left side? Or is the marker scratch just an accident? :)
Yes, I was looking to get that, but my problem is that I need to replace whole quarter panel anyways, my wheel arches are gone, its nothing more than body filler hold those looks.. and inner fender will be needing to be replaced as well.
What I was thinking to do is to use liquid metal filler with my fingers, first thin layer, let it harden, then again and again to build a wall, not to much not to little. and I will use my spare engine nuts that are rounded on top to cover those 3 bolts there.. and dont fill over them like it was before. I will need those later, so filler dont going to go over the edge but to the edge.
Problem begore was that the filler tube was holding to rubber hoses at the tank side and filler under the lid, because mount was rotten away, but now its stands firm and really I dont need to fill anything, I will do that simply cosmetic and to keep moisture out and gas to sip under the wheelarch..
Indeed Marthin, luckily on my gray accort there was so much protective oil there that rust didnt got to those, but on this Black one I snapped one on drivers side, so I replaced it with from my gray car, and I lube those good begore turning. but the left side was stubern and snapped.. But I did have bent that hole that that long bolt slides in, on both sides.
And no, that wasnt me playing with that left quarter panel, it was previous owner that left masking tape edges.. I was thinking to wet sand it and respray it like it sud be and clear on top and wet sand it again mo blend it in abit.. both sides are like this :(
I had to move so I pack my things and moved out of my apartment, but luckily I cud rent a wood house to store my thing as I cant take everything with me..
Here is the engine, I moved it inside, for a bitch job that is to lift that 220kilo engine inside all by my self.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde004-3.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde005-5.jpg
And they came for my car.. R.I.P my beloved Accord :(
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Bilde006-4.jpg
You can see that rear crossmember with everything is loose, I kept it, Will be swapping it on my Black accord, and front assembly as well. Engine bay cleaned out of all wires, motors, hoses and stuff, completely stripped down. Well only brown interior and coupe wiring that was left in it...
wow kinda sad that you could not keep both
as long as you removed all the good bits from it
Ouh yea Aaron, I removed the meet and all tasty legs and all lol..
Yeah took out almost everything, besides wiring and interior.
Word.. ehh wellQuote:

it basically the same as LX accord, if you have power windows and things like that, if not than its as same as DX Accord.. only difference in JDM/RDM compared to USDM is that we have mounted head lights, they have flip-up. and thats about it.. ouh and My Accord were also made in japan..
One thingh tho, that spoiler?!? Take it off, its not a Subaru!!!
Hey man keep up the good work on the car, it looks great! I really wish we had those headlights/front ends in the States, i absolutely love them. Its cool though, i still like the pop up headlights too.
OMG Updates :D
Alright guys, was lill while since I updated here.
I was working for some company that works with Stainless Steel for 2 weeks as a welder, so I used my sunday to build me my own custom towerbar.
Its made of 2x4cm SS pipe with 4mm thick mounts.
First I had to make mounts, it took some time but I figured it out eventually
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka010.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka008.jpg
Then it was time for the bar it self, I spent some time trying different styles and here what I come up with
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka011.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka012.jpg
Boxed it in
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka013.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka014.jpg
And finally done
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka015.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka016.jpg
Just for kicks
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka009.jpg
The next day I cleaned it with acid we use for stainless, or it will rust, because heat from welding disturb its properties. So it looks nice and clean after treat.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka031.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka030.jpg
and on the car. It really made difference
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka034.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka035.jpg
All TIG welded and Custom build
Looks good Tom, but one question. Shouldnt the bar be somewhat straight to tighten lessen up the flex between the strut towers
cut me two of the lil strut tower parts and ship them to me. I can get the rest made from there :D
btw i dont feel like looking further back in the thread lol
Nice strut bar Tom. Good work with that and the gas tank. Any pictures of your car with the newly restored winter wheels on?
logically yes, but in Protagoras formula says if all corners are equal to each other the force have to distribute equally. so it is stiff and do tighten up flex, believe me, the day I put it on, I noticed a big difference in sharpness of steering.Quote:

Thanks and no I dont have any pics with those on my car and it never will be, because they dont fit my car. those are 4x108 not 4x100 like they should be. so they are up for sale now :(Quote:

Too bad on those wheels. :(
Hope you'll at least be able to make a profit on selling them.
nice...does it clear the hood? haha
Messy what do you take me for? a amateur? lol.. It clears the hood just fine :D
Naf's, yes it a shame that wheels didnt fit but ehh well, Itake it as an learning experience. Yea you right it looks abit clunky, I was thinking to redo mounts later on, They didnt had mill so I cudent engrave nut holes so I had to do it to fit inside the triangle.
Hey tom that is too bad about your wheels im just wondering did you not think about the bolt pattern before doing all tge work? I also think i saw somewhere that wheels can have a second bolt pattern if you drill it correctly. You should consider it
Yay fabrication! :) Looks like nice work.
I think you may want to add some reinforcement to the brackets though. Instead of 2 vertical flat steel plates I would add a 3rd that braces the 2 together. I'm worried you will have some flex otherwise due to your brackets pointing 45 degrees toward the rear of the car instead of pointing directly towards the opposite strut tower and at the same time being fairly thin steel pointing up high.
Oh man, bummer about those wheels!! Things like that makes you want to kick yourself in the nuts lol. Too bad the ET is as low as it is, otherwise you would have been able to use a PCD adapter/spacer. I think the smallest spacer is 15mm. Subtract that from your ET and you get (was it ET25?) 25mm-15mm = ET10 :omg:
Btw, you've become a moderator? When why what? :)
Looks good man nice work!
Yea I was thinking to box it in, with small plate on the back side but I forgot about it and had little time that weekend. But I do that later I think.. Anyway it did improve stiffness tho.
About those wheels, they are et37 and adapter would be a great idea but I alreaddy bout me a set of new winter tires on 14". So I was thinking to find some old BBS wheels of some sort, and use those.. Car looks depressed on those steelies. Maybe I can use them as summer tires then if I dont get 17", idk.
edit: About my Mod position, well the Project forum was my idea and I was a great help to organize this setup, I was asked so I cudent say no to that.. It was my dream since 2006, I finally made it :D
Hehe well then congrats! Dont let it eat you up :)
ET37, hmm if you get some 195 tires and the 15mm PCD adapter you should be able to just clear the fenders. Just letting you know it's still doable to make those wheels work. Would be a shame if you never got too see your hard work paying off having them on the car, at least just to see if you like the look or not.
to bad. I probably never gona see those wheels on my car, one guy called me today and asked for a price of shipping and more details on offset and such.. maybe they be gone soon.. I really hate it but I'm a optimist, at least I learned great deal from them and can take on any wheels later on, know what tools work best and methods, materials and so on.. Never beat my self up for anything I ;)
blah!! send me the specs on the plates then, ill get some made here at the school then...hehe...
I like your tower brace.
here is a site I found for structural engineering. I haven't looked through it thoroughly yet though.
http://www.xcalcs.com/cgi-bin/tutti/...tr_.htm%26l=en
http://www.engineersedge.com/beam_calc_menu.shtml
as you guys already know I sold my wheels that I refurbished. So I decided to use my standard 14" wheels, but first I resprayed them white.
here some update pics for you, nothing muckh, mainly because I dont have a camera besides on my cellphone.
theese are after I washed them.

and all four on.. It was getting dark so I gave up on taking more pics.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/SP_A0061.jpg
I'll take more detailed pics later on, days are shotr around here this time of year.
Too bad about your other wheels, but those look pretty sweet!
yea, it is :( but these have to do for now, untill I find something more attractive. Looking for Golf GTi Mk1 BBS wheels..
White wheels has my approval :D
white looks good though :D
i like 'em. I agree with John, they're not the black/gold flake wheels, but they do look good.
those are some SERIOUS winter tires there. Studs and all.
I took some better pics as promised. Now in full daylight..

http://s91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/SP_A0065.jpg
Not what I wanted but better than black steelies
yeah i like the way it turned out
Few weeks back I did some work on my car.. Replaced Alternator along with new serpentine belt. I dont have any pictures about the job being done.
And replaced inner and outer Tie Rod Ends on both sides. Was relatively easy fix, besides that washer that holds inner nut in fixed position.
I'll do a lill write up, so maybe someone will benefit from this.
First of, removed the nut with the pin at Boll Joint, then moved to rubber boot, removed locking ring and slide it off steering rack.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/Fotka000.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/Fotka002.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/Fotka001.jpg
Before you push ball joint out loosened tie rod end's locking nut.
Then to make it easier on my self I used special tool to push tie rod end out
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/Fotka004.jpg
a tip: The inner Tie Rod will have to be bolted to the end anyways so, if you dont have access to Alignment tools, you can count down number of rotations you did unscrewing Outer Tie Rod End. That way you'll sett new parts roughly in the same place for right wheel alignment. You dont want it to drag to one side when you driving it later.
Then I used a flat screw driver, of small size to get under the washer that was flattened around the nut. once I did that, it was just to loosen it unbolt it.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...otka0051-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...otka0061-1.jpg
Then the Inner was in and I flattened sides on the new washer.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...otka0071-1.jpg
Then it was all putting it back together, just traced back all steps taking it apart
Job done
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...z/Fotka008.jpg
Whole job took me 3 hours to do so I had more time to do my custom numberplate mount for my extra Driving Lights..
um Tomisimo what kind of accord do you have and did you do the light conversion??
Its a EDM/JDM type Accord with fixed head lights. Was mostly sold in Europe.
only Aerodecks was with flip up lights here..
Mine is original B20a2 Black/grey interior.
damn wish i had one of those. its sucks that they dont sell them here in cali.
Bump
small updates..
I've got a great deal on wheels I just cudnt pass , got wheels alone for something about 50$ each, brand new and they look good on the car. So I spent some money and bout them.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/SP_A0191.jpg
Here is me truing them on, we didnt knew exact eta on them so we just test fitted them.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Fotka012-1.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...a/Fotka017.jpg
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...Fotka016-1.jpg
Fits nice, so I ordered tires. Here are they on the car.

Looks good!
What springs do you have?
looks good
omfg i hate you. i want those rims.
Thanks guys :) I have idea to make them look even better, but all in its own time ;)
springs, they are B&G springs on KYB's, linear rate, I dont like them actually, they bounce on humpy roads.
and. I Love Haters :D
Nice!
Car needs a wash tho ;)
looks good dude!! man i havent been in your update thread for a while stuff has changed y0
its clean now :)
I was traveling about 600mils last weekend, thats why it was dirty.
Thanks Aaron, Iand I need to talk to you ASAP...
Damn dude! That looks hot! Love those tunnel pics too, that's amazing looking!
oh emm gee:omg: I love this car
Looking good! I like the way the new rims look on it
Hey guys wear can I get tail lights like Tomisimo in the U.S.?
Oh and do I need that trunk two?
No you dont need the trunk, all you need is this.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...2022007038.jpg
Correct.
Aaah yes, the key hole is more to the inside. indeed
so.... any new pics? :D
whats happening now??
No not currently, car sits in the snow, all frozen up. Waiting for budget :)
i hope its back to running soon...same with my b20
Are your front bumper lights in the 'wrong' way?
I thought the light sould be on the outside and the blinker on the inside, like with Nafs Asdf?
I think the way they're on mine is the 'correct' way, but they mount both ways and I've even seen ones with them both the same way :P
Actually on mine I think I have two right ones, the other is just mounted upside down.
Yes.. mine are mounted the other way around. Kinda feel it looks better and more functional. indicators sud be on the outsides.. But I really dont like those at ll, I want USDM 88/89 ones there. and JDM corners for indicators.
^ I agree. They look much better with the turn signals on the outside.
I did mine with the lights on the outside.
Makes the car look wider in dark.
Everyone their own taste...
long time no update? whats happening
Hei guys. Long time no update here.
The cat is moved to stay in a barn outside of the city, but I was thinking this winter. I have 2 part cars, one on wheels, the other one in parts. I was exploring my options and wonder if I just buy an Aerodeck and start to build on it instead? Lets face it, Aerodeck looks cool, sedan looks abit boring and need much more detailing for it to look good. The black car need alot of rust welding anyway.
Edited: :d
That sounds like a good plan.
Maybe you could buy the one from ...., or even better, save one yourselves.
Aero's are worth saving!

Sounds really good! I would love to see another aerodeck!
I really burning for a Coupe actually, so its desided. but a big one BUT, I still thinking to get Aero, and make something cool. aLa'Midenginedsixcilinder race track blaster.:naughty:
