Well I won't have to sell my Accord afterall hopefully.... I was doing a motor overhaul for an engine project at school and the bill for the machine shop would be $2185 and well I can't afford that and was trying to sell parts to make the budject. I found a JDM motor for about $600 shipped and I talked with my instructor and he's just going to seperate my engine group and put us with other groups and still give us full credit. And he will let me put the JDM motor in my 91 lude si in the spring semester sometime. So I won't have to sell out the parts I want to keep. So the rear strut bar is not for sale anymore. I don't really know how to tell what parts the brackets and bar is off of. I thought he said it was from an accord and lude or something.
That a little spendy. What were you doing a build up or just a basic rebuild. What JDM motor did you get?
That was going to be just for a stock rebuild. I'm getting a JDM B20A for it. I have a bunch of parts for it like DC header, Integra Type R CAI, Battery Relocation kit (trunk), UR lightened crankshaft pulley, custom exhaust, Taylor 8mm wires, upgraded ground system, and some more. I'll get a MSD 6al for it b4 I put in the JDM motor. I'm getting a FPR and maybe take out the ABS system b/c I think it will be a pain to bleed that sysem when I put everything back together.
Are you going to keep is carb or go to EFI.
hey guys i took some picks today of the rear strut going to post them up tonight
So where are the pics? And did you ever find out what parts were used to make it?
Yea or at least give us the length of the bar so I can do some searching.Quote:

I've been told that a 90-94 Accord rear bar will work with a little bending of the mounts. Just heat em up and spread it out.
I would think that doing that would make it brittle if you don't cool it right, or is there not enough stress to need worry?
Letting steel air-cool from high temperatures typically will make it more ductile rather than more brittle. Extremely fast cooling (like a salt water quench) is how you make it brittle.Quote:

Yea you want it to cool slow esp if you get it real hot durning the process.
Now exactely what year accord does this one supposely work the 90 and 94 and different generations.
the 94 accord mounts work the brace is too short i think u cant heat aluminum it will crack u have too make a slit in it and bend it for the steel mounts get a small torch heat it up and flex it nut make a slit in it so it does not bubble up in the center cool it wit water as for the brace the owner of big boys toys did not have a clue and the measurements depend on the mounts u get so u have to do the mounts first then measure hole to hole for the bar make sure that it is adjustable at booth ends.
BTW the pics were supposed to be posted up by a friend of minez on the board but i dont know wat happened
Well you still are not helping us. WE know that the 4g accord brackets and 94-97 lude brackets will work.
Thats the most important part the brackets its the hardest part u can use civic 92-00 brace it works or teg brace but like i said it depends on how far out the mount holes are
To many oprtions. What does work the teg brace with accord mounts or civic brace with lude mounts.???????
how to make a rear strut? just pm me and i will give u directions on how too instead of giving a thousand posts just pm me and i will give directions.
Better yet.. send me and we'll make u one!:deal:
