Well at least you tried something new. Yea and you could get busted for the impersonating. It is unlikely but if the cops are desperte enough for money like they are around here it could be mad.
I don't know if the law has changed since my Dad stopped doing MODOT inspections (which was a while ago), but back then the law was this : The only allowed color of lights on the rear of a vehicle are Red Amber and White. But that may have changed but I doubt it. It's not that it dont blink blazin its that it isnt colored right. Im going to check out the DOT law and be back on it.

I cant get a decent .gov cite to tell me crap (says alot for the gov't). But I'd Try to check local laws before I got pulled over. If nothing else paint the red border arount the top of the taillights, That's whats making it look stupid.
i just got 200 yesterday, that i need to put in bank. it has to go to getting my new fuel pump and my putting it in. if i can i will paint my tails candy apple red. don't know at this point.

ok. if having tail lights that are not red or amber is illigal, than why can i have clear markers, tail lights, and bumper lights and still pass saftey inspection? plus i think it looks good.
It depends on if you have red or amber bulbs in the housing. The light coming from your tails/signals has to be either red or amber on the back and amber on the front. Any other color (incl. white) and you run a risk of getting a ticket.Quote:

ok well i've been driving around with all white bolbs in my car (except for brakes of course) for almost a year and have enver had a problem, and even passes saftey 4 times with them (had to go back 3 times cause i failed emissions)

some colors don't mix well with others for instance if you wanted to get orange you would mix yellow and red. So if you had red tails which just about everybody does that doesn't have clears(still haven't found yet) you would spray a mix combo of candy yellow(a transparent color) and a flat yellow with maybe a bit of flake to it. Now you can get a batch of this mixed at any paint store and filled into just about any size rattle can you could imagine I would suggest a flat nozzle on what ever size can you get because it gives more of a easier application for multiple coats. But for other colors get a color wheel and see how they mix and what all colors they make when combined experimentation will probably be the best thing to start out doing when you are just starting to find out what you want.
