well i had a set back today my turbo is pissing oil in to the hot side i order a overhaul kit but it wont have it untel friday .dam.:wtf:
Is your turbo a ball or journal bearing turbo? If it's a ballbearing turbo you might be running too much oilpressure to the turbo. A restrictor in the feed line will help you out.
nice work man.

in this pic i am looking at you're oil return line.
there is a copper fitting at the oil pan.?
can you get a close up of that fitting?
what size hose is you're oil return line?
whats bothering me is there is minimal fall from the turbo to the oil pan.
either the turbo really does need to rebuilt or the oil return is not evacuating oil fast enough.
this would mean you would need to install a larger oil return line.
does it smoke at idle or only when you are in boost?(at operating temp)
if oil backs up even a Little it would cause it to smoke.
at this point you have a puddle of oil in the hot side of the turbo and probably in your exhaust. Even if you fixed the problem it would smoke.
you need to pull it apart and clean the shit out of both. I would not worry about connecting the down pipe to the exhaust till the problem is found and fixed. you may need to pull it apart again.
try a .030 restrictor and make sure the return is free flowing . you will have the turbo out,it might be a good time to find a shop that checks/rebuilds turbos have them check it. it should only cost you about $40.
some turbos are really picky about how much oil they get yet others you can run a 4an line with no restrictors.
whats the shaft play like?
that turbo should have a very small amount of up/down movement but zero in/out movement.
what oil are you running?
