I have a strange feeling your clutch is slipping pretty bad.
no my clutch is fine i grabs on good and doesnt slip at all i just changed it 1.5 months ago so thats fine
Is it adjusted correctly?
just because the clutch grabs at low speed doesn't mean it's adjusted right and isn't slipping at high speed. you need to go to the basics, fuel pressure, timing, cam timing, compression, ignition. the basics. chances are you will find the problem. didn't you say a timing belt was just installed? it''s very easy for someone not used to these old cars to time it wrong. maby it was timed to the other mark on the flywheel,it's very possible. if cam timing is off,you might have plenty of power at low rpms, but none at high rpms.
^^if the cam is advanced then yes it will do exactly that
i just checked it right now and the fly wheel is alligned with the cam gear
ima probably sound like a noob but is the cam gear the part that the timing belt connects to right next to the vavle cover?
and my car feels fine just rough idle but how would i adjust it so it wouldnt do that now more and also i dont really have lots of power at low rpms between 2nd gear and 5th gear is that also a prob?
My timing is advanced a tooth and still pulls.
sounds like she needs a tune up danny.
but if ur advanced wouldnt that mess with it at all?
and i want a tune up but no cash it sucks
Might be ignition timing. Adjust the distributer while its running
yeah mine was around the 70s. never paid to much attention to it though and haven't driving a 3g to fuel cut in 2nd in a year
how do u adjust the distributor?
