Its a pearl paint and yes i used clearcoat, paint was bought locally, and i used a simple cheap harbor freight gun. Yes it was my very first experience painting a car and using a real spray gun...pearl is very hard to spray especially for a beginner the doors have certain spots where the pearl was distorted because the gun was acting up a bit...its only noticeable at a certain angle in the sunlight...also a few clearcoat runs but overall i was really proud of myself how it turned out:)
As a former ASE painter, yah pearls are a BITCH to get right for a novice. If anyone wants to learn how to paint start off with metallics first. Pearls only look right if you got the material needle jetted just right, you need consistent air pressure any drop in pressure could make the pearl not atomize correctly. Not bad for a harbor gun, i personally use my SATA NR2000 for basecoat / clear coat with a 1.4MM needle and cap. Overall it looks like you did a good job for the experience you have.
Re: My Hatch Featured in C.A.M website!
Hey old school,It says your car is lowered 1.5 inches but that looks lower than that.
Re: My Hatch Featured in C.A.M website!

Thank you:) yeah i should've started with metalic, if u look very close u can see where the pearl was distorted from either too much pressure or too little. i plan to fix it in the future because im very anal and it bugs me to see things like that lol. I really wanted to go with a good gun like the SATA but i just went by what i could afford at the time.

Well i hate to say it but ive been ridding on slightly cut eibach sportline springs to lower it to how i wanted it, and also cut pitchfork up front. But just recently im riding on sprint springs, the back is ok now but the front i wanna go like half inch lower:)

I usually don't like the hatches very much, but I love yours man. So sick and a great color choice too. My only question is, what front lip do you have? It is perfect, and is the one I want. Thanks man!
