Also there probably wont be any updates for a while guys, i broke my collarbone in three places, so im stuck in bed/around the house for a while, until i heal a little better.
about how much would i take off of the springs? inches or loops would be nice.. and would i be able to cut or heat with the spring in the wheel well?

if youre going to cut youd have to take it off the car, and take off about a coil to start with, for heating ou can use a torch and leave them on the car.
you can however pick up a set of sprint springs 2.25" drop on ebay for abou $75 bucks sometimes.

hehe. you're older than my dad. I just turned 19 and I've thought about chopping my springs too, but I just got a job at Autozone so I'm gonna do it the right way and save up for some D2 coilovers.

Re: Mushroom_Toys wholelottapics 86LXI Update Thread
alright gentlemen... so heating and cutting isnt a great idea right? ok so what am i looking at for a set of lowering springs or mabe a set of coilovers... somone said 75 bucks but idk if thats per spring or for a set..
-
Re: Mushroom_Toys wholelottapics 86LXI Update Thread
depending on what springs you want, a set will range around 100
-
Re: Mushroom_Toys wholelottapics 86LXI Update Thread
A lot of people say heating or cutting is a bad idea. Honestly if you do it right it isnt.
just like some stock struts on lowering springs/coilovers.

when i got my 3gee the rear springs were cut the car bottomed out like crazy and scraped alot since the shocks were blown out as well but if you dont care much for good ride go ahead and cut them but if u want a good ride your going to have to get new shocks and proper lowering springs id say get tokico blues and some drop zones

Re: Mushroom_Toys wholelottapics 86LXI Update Thread
^My brother and a lot of people heated their coils back in the day, but really either way if you take your time and make sure everything is even it will all be fine cut or heated.

Exactly, done right, in the right place on the spring, and on the right type of spring.
There are a lot of variables for things that could go wrong though.
I say why not do it if you are intending on buying springs anyway, if you don't like it then no big deal, if you like it then you saved a few bucks.
and FTW Picopop !!

/Most people usually use a torch. You can find mot of the info you need on the web probably. Try searching google.
