yeah they have a nice write up on how to put folding seats in the the rear...i think you have to drill out the spot welds and then take it out like that you can put folding seats in.

I'm acutally removing the rear seats of my accord. If I had rear seat where would I put my Dual 15's??? lol Plus I have a N licence which means I can only have 1 passenger.
Hey Everyone!
I thought I'd throw down a few pictures as I haven't had anything else huge to report recently.
BUT First... This accord only drives around to haunt me lol:
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00165.jpg
The reason why I posted this pic is because I have been meaning to show everyone what NOT to do with their Accord... This guy has a half primer half burgundy Accord with stick on hood scoops etc... It looks just horrible to do that to one of our cars. I see this Accord around like once a week and can NEVER snap a pic of it until today when I saw it in traffic once again... One day I'll get a better pic of it!
I actually got to see my motor today! The gent that has it did me a huge favor today and came down to Westbank picked me up and took me up to his shop which is about 30-40 min drive :-) :-)
While I was there I learned a shitload of info that I needed to make an educated decision on what will be happening to the build. Any question I had Mr.R had a wealth of info for me and was a real eye opener to what can be done if you have the experience and skill that he does.
While I was there looking at all the guts of my motor I snapped a few pictures... Basically these are the before shots of the build and of course you know me more will be coming as soon as the motor is ready to be assembled.
Here are the pics I snapped today.. Nothing spectacular to a mechanic but to me they are very cool!!! Here they are:

I am so excited to see this all happening and for Mr.R to be able to show me hands on makes it even greater!
Thanks again!
So? What's going to happen with the build? What direction are you taking the motor?
Well I've decided to go naturally aspirated.
I've also Explained to Mr.R that my goal is to have 200hp.
There are couple of reasons why but mainly for me I wanted to have a done out Accord with an A20A pushing almost double the stock horsepower.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'd be the first NA build in Canada on this site now THAT would be sweet. Hopefully In a couple of weeks I should have everything priced out aswell :-) Maybe even a parts list but that I'm not sure about.
I'll Have more info about the build as I learn it.
Later!
Well, you're the 1st A20A N/A build in Canada (I remember out of my head)
I corrected the motor name :-)
Thanks for the heads up Carotman... do any other of the senior members here know If I'd be the first?
Hi all, My name is as you know it Mr R. Name to follow later. I work full time as head journeyman at my day job . (Not bragging but I have my masters) and also have a small hobby shop where I make HP. My customer Mike for short will have and be delivered all specs on his engine. In NO way will anything be posted on what I did and how. Sorry I do things a little off the wall.I will make 208 HP with this engine and no mass air flow meter (which makes hudge differance with injected cars) and most of this comes from head, cam and setup. I will post as I go and let Mike take pics as required. Sorry to be a little of an ass but I keep my findings very private for all my customers.
Thanks for understanding.

ok Mr R....i will believe you till i see some dyno print out....Quote:

Be civil, guys, it's not often a professional engine builder is willing to come talk to us. If he's BSing, we'll know soon enough. In the meantime, that's a grown man you're talking to, don't talk to him like he's 14 years old.
well im just saying if he is for real id say he should just build engines cause that would be wicked
or he could come here and fix mine :)
I'm sure he'd be delighted to build one for you if you sent him one.
However, I can't help but assume you're every bit as broke as I am, and that's pretty damn broke!
Hey bro I haven't read the whole thread, but Are you planning on leaving the interior stripped? That would save a lot of weight and increase the "Go FAST' aspect of the car? Just a thought and suggestion?
just to clear a question in my head are u talking about 208 hp out of an a20 motor carb or fi just a questionQuote:

To have him post in my thread and then have his comments met with disbelief is the last thing that should be happening. If we hit 200 HP or not he still has 35 YEARS of experience of engine work at his disposal... longer then most of us have even been around. That being said THANK YOU Mr.R for signing up and being a part of our small community.
Yes I'm shooting for 200 HP however speed isn't my priority. I have plans for huge stereo system that is going to weigh as much as 125-175 Lbs. So I decided to make the interior as nice as possible to match the exterior paint job. I want this car to be a show car as well.Quote:

Plus new bulbs :-)
$54 CAD shipped :-)
^^^i see some Alpine Type R 15 inch subs^^^...my friend had 2 12s and sounded good...but they would not fit into his truck so he got the 10 inch ones...still sound good but does not shake the car alot...lol oh yeah NIce headlights.
Those headlights looks superb. All the other ones i've seen look cheap ass. I've had some cheap ass ones in my day too.
I know exactly what you mean, I agree those look nice... One of my next purchases will be some good h4 housingsQuote:

yeah my 15's are in my room with half my other car shit LOL till it's build up time :-)
this is going to be sweet, i wonder what that engines going to turn out to be like, i've decided on a N/A build as well.
Yeah I'm getting excited now...now that all the parts are coming together and the portion of the poject where all I'm doing in buying crap is almost over... I need to speak with Doug again and rent a 110 mig welder to get my panel put on and then re-sand the whole car.
I havn't heard from Mr.R yet but in the next week or so I should know how much the motor is going to set me back.
It's cool you've decided to go N/A aswelll.... I really want to go with you and check out AutoCross one day soon :-)
Hey bud you will hear from me. trying to cut as many cost for you as I can but still build you a awsume engine. Most people don't get it but engines are just glorified air pumps and what you get in you must get out and that is where the problem lies in your engine getting the exhaust out with 1 valve. The head has only so much material and will only passs so much air, BUT I am on it and looking for more as we speak. I will have a price back by weekend on your crank and rods and other than that I have all details in place. We will talk my friend and I will make you fly.
Mr R
Small note for dis believers, shit I can't spell but I can build motors. i don't even own a honda but 4 cylinders are 4 cylinders and i will have Mike post pics later of some of my shop (small as it may be) and of a couple of 1325 cc bike engines I built and so on. One of my best friend who I sponsor in raceing runs a turbo achohol bike and makes 467 hp at 10200 and ran a best this year at 7.18 199 mph with bike weighing in at about 675. Differant but the same. I am best at turbo NOS engines as that is where i bloom but you also need to have a good NAP engine to start with. One day you guys will understand that HP takes time and money BUT 90% is made in top end.
I am 48 building crap since 8 years old, everything is paid for in my shop, no overhead, slow at what I do because It is not a full time job, just a fun hobby. When it changes to production, I will close the doors and just tinker on my own shit.
End of story.
Mr Rl
Hey I got My stiffening components in!
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00208.jpg
Everything seems well made... I'm not a welder but so far they look awsome!
welcome precision porting are you aware there were 4 valves per cylder on some of the heads for these cars... don't think you would find that sorta stuff in canada though don't know if that would help in any way
 not on our engines.Quote:

The strut bars/tie bars look good too, I cant wait to get mine.
4 Valves negative on that. onlly 3 valves but there is 4 holes per cylinder in the head 3 for the valves (2intake)(1 exhaust) and 1 hole for the spark plug.
The only 4 valve head is the B20A head, and that's a completely different engine.
yep it sure is differant. It is actually is 2050cc and has 2 cams etc etc etc. I wish I could figure out a way to put that head one of these 2 litres. That would be awsume.
adam already started ....the b20 head and the a20 block...it just looked damn mean.Quote:

Only problem I see is shipping you the head and such.

Great guy :-)
I have an update But Im saving it for tomorrow LOL
Here Is a random picture:
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00280s.jpg
This is what you get if you bag each and every bolt from every Accord you've stripped!! I've got Three bags from each Accord lol
Think I'll find what I'm looking for?
Actually this kind of reminds me of something...
Now that people are getting to know me as an Accord guy I get calls from people in distress... I helped a buddy out with an extra starter I had :-) ... Oh and when I went to the Kelowna meet my car wasn't there but my old hood was on one Accord there and my old block was in another LOL
So I've learned the HOW-TO on Fibergless.... Man it's soo easy :-)
I took the last few days fixing a couple of key areas of rust.
I'm really really excited because now that I know how to fiberglass I can move on to projects that until a few days ago I didn't have the skill to do!
I've fixed the top of the wheel well on the pasenger side and I've fixed a big hole created by rust on the drivers side rear wheel well as well. Here are a couple of pictures of what I have been doing.
It's not finished yet I've got sanding and primering to do... The majority of what you see will be covered by the rear bumper so it's not important to me that it looks nice as long as it's fixed.

http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00296s.jpg
Top two are the driverside wheel well
Bottom two are the passenger side

http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00293s.jpg
dang that looks good! I got to use that on my aerodeck!
not bad at all man with the body work:rockon:
Well I did a little more work today :-)
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00301s.jpg
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00302s.jpg
^^^ I need at least one more layer of fiberglass here :-|
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00303s.jpg
Started to fix another problem area today aswell... I needed to sandblast the whole area because it was so rusty.... Gawd I love my sandblaster :-) I'm Acutally getting better at using it now ;-)
To Anyone looking to buy a sandblaster: DO IT... I have saved enough time on this one project to justify what I paid and I have just a small 5 gallon pressure pot!
More work :-) More layers of fiberglass as well I did some small primering all over the car ;-)

More Work :-)

This time I was able to finish sanding and primming the drivers side.
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00013s.jpg
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00015s.jpg
I also sprayed more sound dampening/undercoat spray all on the inside of the metal to reduce as much sound as possible :-) Great stuff to work with if your have nice gloves :-)
Oh after that I dropped the LX tank to put the EX-i tank in and notice a bit of a difference :-)
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00018s.jpg
LX (above)

EX-i
Anyway that's how my day went :-)
You're really cleaning that car up nice, man!
Thank you Speedpenguin I am really trying to do a decent job here.
There are a couple remaining holes in the structure that you can see.... I am going to deal with those after the quarter panel has been welded on. They don't look like they provide any strength anyway but I will take care of them after :-)
The next step now for bodywork is to get my panel welded on.
The next step I'm doing is swapping the tank over and laying B-Quiet Extreme in my trunk.
Thanx for stopping by!
wow you sure gone to town on this wish i had a space to do somthing simlar with my volvo witch i can buy all the panels for it to fix it new lol
i just hope your using zink oxide primer to help prevent the rust from coming back plzz make sure you are doing this or all your work will just be going down the drain :(
Wow, you're definately making some progress, thats for sure. Keep it up.
LOL

http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00016%20copys.jpg
I wish I could use photo shop :( ... I really wanted to see how a burnt orange and a white combo would look.... ... ... Well... .. I tried... lol
And a little diffrent (2 mintues before work)
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/D...6%20copyss.jpg
hmm what other colors are u going to go with?
The above orange is not very close to what I want.
I'm wanting the make one of my interior accent colors to be the exact same color of the paint job. So think of a nice burnt metallic orange similer to below ( I want mine a little darker ) :
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00026.jpg
This is the closest I've found to the orange that my baby is going to be:
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/Truck.JPG
I LOVE that color!!! I wanted to use that or the bright metallic lime green on black with metallic silver accents on my Ram.....
That is going to look nice as hell!
I hope.
LOL.... Me too... After a year of work? Damn rights I hope!Quote:

Updated Last Post with more Pictures :-)
Nice looking port job, boy has skillz!
Did he flow bench it to make sure all the port's flow numbers match?
He hasn't done anything more then what's in the pictures at this point...
As for his continuing progress he's out of town and is updating me as he goes along :-)
i'd say take your door panels apart and make them dual orange... make them look stock :P
Cool I found a more realistic way of doign the white :-)
see:
http://geminiwebhosting.ca/images2/DSC00014%20copy.jpg
now that looks neat leave the black trim alone though i would say lol
also try it in all orange see how it looks

You know... I've come to realize that yes my car is defiantly going to have some ricer aspects to it.... BUT... on the other hand my "ricer" will have a fully redone motor (with double the horse power hopefully), a fully redone exterior, redone interior and NICE sound system.
The fact I've put so much effort into this to me doesn't classify me as a ricer...
Just to clarify.
OH.... and my window? LOL It's broken from that fucking shopping cart so i just used a filter on it so you couldn't tell the Cracks are there :-)
who cares if others think your car is rice (i dont) i think its a good project with a lot of potential, not just some stupid stickers slapped on with half assed work done to it.
oh and im gonna pretend i didnt see post #283
Well, all the bodywork you've done is an inspiration to me. I'll soon start working on the hatchback. I'm prepping the garage with plastics everywhere. There's going to be alot of that nasty sandblasting media everywhere.
Thank you Carotman coming from you that means a ton... and overdosed thanx aswell :-)
Gemini2003 just ignor my ricer coments lol the amont of work you have put in is a testimat to your love of 3geez. i wish i had the skillz and a garadge to do what your doing rust wise your a god on 3geez keep it up :)
